I'm not so sure it is that simple... you and I "can" - but we don't...Loyal White wrote:They're doing it because they can. It's that simple.

Re: Here we go (aka UK riots thread)
Just got home from a weekend away in London, last night had such a maddened atmosphere and we didnt even leave central London. The pub we were in just over Tower Bridge on the edge of Bermondsey was cleared out and closed on police advice and riot vans, police cars and a convoys of armoured police vehicles sped past, sirens everywhere and people walking about looking very shocked.
A friend of ours who lives down there was supposed to be meeting us last night but stayed in her house in Hackney to keep safe, she's been told today that the police have told them to get back home today as soon as possible and stay off the streets. Her own neighbourhood a no-go zone, its terrible.
Glad to be home!

That's what happens when you go there. It's a terrible place. Stop up here. It's great up here.P.O.S. wrote:Just got home from a weekend away in London, last night had such a maddened atmosphere and we didnt even leave central London. Perhaps you'd be wise to see PB's earlier post, especially being as he lives there. Or perhaps they should leave it all for some other 4ucker to tidy up.TANGODANCER wrote:Oh dear. Boris getting cheered walking around Clapham Junction waving a green sweeping brush.

Hearing a lot of sirens and can see a police helicopter circling around over Manchester. A mate on another forum said his wife has been sent home early from work in Manchester as they're closing early and expecting trouble.
Standoff going on at Salford Precinct right now as well apparently. It's a rumourmonger's dream this.

Greater Manchester Police was today sending more than 100 riot cops to help out with the devastating riots in London.
Well done GMP. Free reign for all in Manchester and Salford it is then. feck it, I'm going joining in too then!

I'm not a big fan of Boris - in fact I think his a huge waste of mayoral space... but I haven't grasped why it is a bad thing that he should be cheered at Clapham Junction for waving a green sweeping brush...TANGODANCER wrote:Perhaps I saw it.
