Al Habsi still has his best years in front of him though, hence long term a better investment. Bogdan's handling concerns me, top YOuNG keeper bit ready to be a Prem#1? Maybe with a little more seasoning.
I doubt the "big four" have any interest in Jussi at all.

Bish,
No need to split hairs mate. Bottom line he is a highly rated keeper who would get a Prem job sharpish if we "f@@ked him off".

Arsenal wanted him very seriously. He and his family love where they are and therefore he didnt want to move them. He also has great feelings for BWFC and wanted to stay loyal! If he didn't have a family it may of course have been different who knows. That's from a parent of a former BWFC player who was very friendly with Jussi and Barber!thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:Not now but a few years back they definitely did!thebish wrote:Holden midfielder wrote:Jussi is rated by the big 4 as either a no1 (Arsenal) or a no2. If that seriously is the case why oh why does he employ the pimp to generally upset every fooker every contract time?BWFC_Insane wrote:Arsenal wanted him very seriously. Re: Jussi turns down new contract
Are people still whining about this?
We sold Al Habsi because
a) Wigan offered us £4million; and
b) Because he's not good enough to be a first choice keeper. Decent back up, but that's it.
But hey. He's gone. Jaaskelainen's here for the next year, and, throughout that time, we'll get every fecking whining maggot on this board saying "we should have kept Al Habsi" every time we concede (whether Jaaskelainen's made a mistake or not).

Re: Jussi turns down new contract
This would be the same Al Habsi that wasn't one of the players instrumental in keeping us up a few seasons ago?

The very same, as far as I know. However, Puskas is about to show us some posts of mine in which I've claimed otherwise but haven't read. You're up, Puskas!Jakerbeef wrote:This would be the same Al Habsi that wasn't one of the players instrumental in keeping us up one season?

to be fair - he wasn't that specific... to back up his post he'd only need to find a post of yours - any post - that was more bollox than you claimed his was (assuming you read your own posts).
of course - that would be a subjective judgement...

Re: Jussi turns down new contract
All keepers make mistakes. You only need to look at the few a £20m keeper down the road has made this season or the clanger a certain Wigan goalie made on the first match of the season.
The issue is that we don't now, and never have had, a better keeper than Jussi on the books.
