I don't know - I'd have thought so, but I don't begrudge him that.

I wouldn't trust Wenger to sign anyone. This summer it was clear that you needed a dominant centre half, a world class midfielder and a top striker - I don't know about Gervinho (bar his stupid haircut) but he's purchased a Finnish rightback in Jenkinson and paid £12m for someone who has never played above Division Three. He's barmy and you'd be better off with Big Sam.

Aye, and I've heard ducks fart.

(I did think Arsenal always said it was £40million or no deal - but - hey £27mill plus add-ons will have to do) - and that's enough to buy Cahill.
Bloody hell Bish are you Cahills agent?
Why are you so keen to flog him at this stage?
Chill out man. By the time Wenger makes a decision about anything the rioters will have taken over the earth!
because I'd rather flog him now and raise a wodge of cash than lose him for nowt next season. I would be VERY surprised if Coyle hasn't got a couple of targets lined up for pretty speedy CB acquisition should we sell Cahill. I also reckon Coyle is also pretty keen to flog him and get rid of the ongoing uncertainty that would simply roll over in to the "will he sign a new contract" and then "will we have to sell him in January" uncertainties should we not sell him now.

and - no, I am not his agent! 8)
The impression I got last night was that as a manager Coyle would prefer to keep GC. As you'd expect.

From a business point of view possibly not the case.

From what they said, its meet the asking price or we will take the risks of trying to sign a new deal with him. I think if no suitable bid comes in before the end of the window, Coyle will work very hard to persuade him into signing a new deal. He said last night that there are "certain things we can put into a contract to make it attractive to Gary" ££££ presumably!

Gary is known to like jammy dodgers... Coyle has had an extra key cut for the dodger-cupboard...

it is being regularly reported on R5 as £27million up-front with a potential £5mill add-ons (e.g. if he can play a whole month without injury etc.)

If you had a choice of Samba, Cahill or Dann then you'd choose Djourou. Dann is shit, though he has an ace song

"Cheryl Cole's a slapper
She needs a proper man
And when she plays with herself
She's thinking of Scott Dann"

It was all the talk from Coyle that put off Wenger

I think it was Arsenal's shitness that put off Cahill to be honest.

Sideways move.

Now we can move on to more serious contenders?

I wonder whether it's because your manager couldn't pick a defender if he tried?

Nah, it's Wenger going for the cheap option, as usual. He'll never learn.

I think Wenger is too busy worrying about his job to care about what Coyle has to say.

In that case tell him to smile a bit more, that surly expression he has makes his face look like a ball sack.
