Tuncay, and his position in the team

Now my boy Sanli is sorted, I wondered where he will fit in. Give him a month to get his fitness up, then I'd go as follows
Jussi
anyone Cahill Wheater anyone
Phillips Pratley Coker Petrov
Tuncay
N'Gog
That's one sexy team

Tunners (

We're going to win the bastard League

Re: Tuncay, and his position in the team
got it wrong mate
he'll play just behind Jerome
he'll play just behind Jerome

Re: Tuncay, and his position in the team
4-2-3-1 would better suit Tuncay as he could play as any of the 3 and even as the 1
Certainly with him and Eagles, and possibly SWP, it could be a a fluid 4-2-3-1

Re: Tuncay, and his position in the team
That lineup is perfect, but anything without Kevin Davies up top is just unrealistic
I'd go with;
Jussi
Robbo Cahill Wheater Ricketts (depending on fitness)
Muamba NRC
Petrov Eagles
Tuncay
Davies
IF we sign SWP/N'gog then we have options galore!! (n'gog/tuncay playing off davies, or even better klasnic, is mouth watering)

He's still the best keeper we've got, and better than Habsi by a long stretch

Re: Tuncay, and his position in the team
...is it just my old rose tinters playing up again but the team listed already has the potential for a top 10 finish and that's without N'Gog/SWP or the like! When you see the money teams like Sunderland have just thrown away (potentially Stoke too if they go in for Crouch/Palacios) and others like Newcastle just falling apart from the seems I can't think of any other teams outside the top 5 that have strengthened in the manner we seem to be.
back to reality.

Re: Tuncay, and his position in the team
Chuffed with Tuncay I think he could really provide us with the sort of attacking creativity we're desperate for.
We still need to surround him and Davies with pace though. We get SWP in, and even N'Gog who I know little about but may have something to prove, and then I'd be one excited little sod going into the new season!
Now, about our defence...

Just me who'd rather see him with Klasnic?

If yon mon could stop fit, then definitely.
I'd rather see him alongside a young buck who could do all his running, mind.

I don't have a problem with that, so long as Coyle dares to sub KD when he needs subbing

Tuncay is a grafter and makes great runs. I really think he'd work well playing off Klasnic who is a clever footballer too!

Tuncay would do that for him, wouldn't he?Lofthouse Lower wrote:If yon mon could stop fit, then definitely.

Hope I'm mistaken then - I don't just mean Elmander style crowd-pleasing semi-efforts to chase down a clearance and ooooh only just miss despite a desperate lunge

Re: Tuncay, and his position in the team
I'll wait and see, I think.
Dunno why, I just haven't got all excited about this signing yet. It's probably as much to do with who he partners with as much as Tuncay himself.
Oh and I don't want to be in the stadium on the day that OC makes a double substitution taking off Petrov and Tuncay and replacing them with Mavies and Gardner (or whoever else on the left). That would be strop city of the highest order.

Tuncay is proper busy all over the pitch. Runs non stop.Lofthouse Lower wrote:Hope I'm mistaken then - I don't just mean Elmander style crowd-pleasing semi-efforts to chase down a clearance and ooooh only just miss despite a desperate lunge
At Boro they used to chant "we've only got one player" because Tuncay was literally everywhere.
Thats why Coyle will be buying him, cos he loves that sort of thing. From that point of view he's exactly what we need, from a goalscoring aspect not so convinced, but any movement will be welcome!
