As if OC would sub a striker and a winger for two midfielders...

Re: Tuncay, and his position in the team
in the first team for ages , might score a couple over the season, and run about for five minutes in certain games when it looks like he's gonna get substituted to make it look like he's doing somethin' , til coyle realizes another player does more and he eventually drops him for the last five games in which the replacement player scores two or three.
Re: Tuncay, and his position in the team
I think it's about time we stopped thinking about an attacking duo. 4-4-2 is dead. 4-3-3/4-5-1 hold far more flexibility especially if OC wants to play SKD. let him lead the line and have the likes of Eagles, Petrov and Tuncay (+SWP) off him

tuncay is a hellva a signing havint been this excited since we signed Anelka (my dinner with LL's mrs comes a close second
) he has always been one those players where i used to think now why the fvck did't we try for him and i use to think the same about N'Zogbia when he was at newcatle
i think he will start to fizzle davo out this season tuncay to play in the hole(sexy) and if we sign tuncay permantley (after the loan) that will give him another 2 years to bring on Eaves to a EPL standard (well in theory)

Jussi
Ricketts(when fit)Knight-Cahill-Alonso
Eagles-Pratley-Reo Coker- Petrov
Davies-Tuncay
I'd play the two up top together and let them link up or even just have tuncay sat just behind

Narr, Klasnic/Tuncay up top would be a decent combination IMOboltonboris wrote:Just me who'd rather see him with Klasnic?
Just like I thought about Elmander/Klasnic
Spot the common denominator who seems to be picked instead no matter what....be VERY interesting if we did sign Ngog though, now way is Tuncay a wide midfielder in a 442.
Oh and everyone picking these teams, I'm assuming the lack of Holdenage is cos he's injured? When back he's first name on the teamsheet!

Ofcourse I'd have Holden over every midfielder in the team! I think him and Pratley could have a quality partnership in midfielder but very simular players in the way they play...officer_dibble wrote:Narr, Klasnic/Tuncay up top would be a decent combination IMOboltonboris wrote:Just me who'd rather see him with Klasnic?

HAven't seen Pratley yet so cant comment. Would like to see Holden bombing around with a 'sitter', which could be NRC I imagine. Muamba hasn't got the distribution or discipline I imagine. Infact Muamba is probably the most interesting one this season....will he play at all?

Not at all.........................................
Re: Tuncay, and his position in the team
My favourite bit of all this transfer talk is the Pro Evo style assumption that N'Gog, like Riga, is quick, because, erm, well, he's black.

Absolutely he would!!!!

Re: Tuncay, and his position in the team
Boro and Stoke fans Ive seen commenting on the transfer all say they really liked him when he played for them, and that he's a proper grafterHolden midfielder wrote:boltonboris wrote:Tuncay would do that for him, wouldn't he?Lofthouse Lower wrote:If yon mon could stop fit, then definitely.

You've been spending too much time in the social conscience thread.Prufrock wrote:My favourite bit of all this transfer talk is the Pro Evo style assumption that N'Gog, like Riga, is quick, because, erm, well, he's black.
Sammy Davies Jr would be referred to as lightning compared to Davo. Not because he's black.
Re: Tuncay, and his position in the team
N'Gog is fecking slow! But yeah, probably quicker than the now glacial Davies. That isn't the problem (problem is the wrong word, I think it is funny, I just also think smilies are GAY), given 'quicker than Davo' is about as useful as 'better than Blake' or 'with more kidneys than Klasnic', ie, not enough on it's own. Folk keep referring to him in regards to our search for a 'pacey striker', I assume applying the Pro Evo style rule that all black people are fast.

as of April 2011 - Muamba was the slowest player at Bolton (not counting anyone with a broken leg)

Re: Tuncay, and his position in the team
Hardly conclusive. His positioning might be so much better than everyone else, that he never needs that sprint burst to make up lost ground.thebish wrote:according to this article...Worthy4England wrote:You've been spending too much time in the social conscience thread.Prufrock wrote:My favourite bit of all this transfer talk is the Pro Evo style assumption that N'Gog, like Riga, is quick, because, erm, well, he's black.

I think theres just about enough intelligent folk in our support that realise it could have been JOB and Cohen. And rejoice.Worthy4England wrote:I'll wait and see, I think.
Dunno why, I just haven't got all excited about this signing yet. It's probably as much to do with who he partners with as much as Tuncay himself.

Or Gavin McCann. And break out into rapturous applause that our options are still attacking.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: Tuncay, and his position in the team
I know - but i could find precious little about speed-comparisons between players other than a "top 10 shot hot fastest players of all time" thing that did the rounds...Worthy4England wrote:Hardly conclusive. pace is quite hard to judge watching from the stands - because it's a bit of a subjective judgement based at least in part on how fast the people around you are!
matty taylor would look shit-hot in a flat-out race for the ball with Ivan Campo f'rinstance...
all i have seen of N'gog is a few bits on the telly of highlights - I find it very hard to be quite as dogmatic as Pru as to how fast he actually is...
