If the answer to them from us is "no", or "yes and we won't accept a penny less", then that could well be why there's been no formal bids. What would be the point of preparing the paperwork if it's fairly certain one side or another isn't going to budge?

Sure, Wenger or whoever could go to the trouble to put a formal £10m bid together, but maybe they've come to the conclusion that there's no point.

True, but Arsenal seem happy enough to put bids that won't be accepted in for Jagielka. End of the day until Wenger or anyone else actually puts an actual bid in the rest is irrelevant. I bet we've enquirer for a load of players this summer and not followed up with anything further!

TD reading between the lines from the fans forum it's going to be tough going getting Cahill to sign a new deal for obvious reasons. I imagine Coyle is talking him up at every opportunity so that if no bid is forthcoming Cahill knows that Coyle has stood by him and given the top clubs every opportunity and not held him back. Also I guess so he also knows how valued he is here. Getting him to sign would still be a long shot. FWIW I expect Arsenal to come in for him before end of the window, whether it's in time or with enough money, who knows?

Cannot see him signing another contract. He'll bide his time for this season and pocket a fair old wedge next year. If we don't sell him in next 2 weeks i can't see him leaing in January either. Would you? He's not unhappy at the club and won't mind another year.

I'd be surprised if SWP comes to us. As for Cahill I really think nobody knows. It all depends what goes on in the mind of Wenger, so owt could happen. Always has seemed to me that the press are more keen to sell him to Arsenal than Wenger is to buy him. He's been available all summer, Coyle is adamant he won't be sold on the cheap and from the fans forum, I believe him. So for me it takes a massive sea change in Wengers mindset for it to happen. But owt is possible I guess!

I think Arsenal are way overvaluing Bendtner so I doubt we will go for it, unless we add another 3m to Cahill's price after last night.
