Premiership Net Spend
Don't know how to post it here, but thought this from WW was interesting.

Blackburn have done amazingly well yet they still have no money.
Stunned how high West Brom and Wolves are on that list. Shocking that Blunderland are 6th and still have achieved nowt!
Our figures are interesting. Heavy net spend in Allardyce's last 2 seasons presumably to try and persuade him to stay with us. And similar for Megsons 2 full seasons presumably to try and rebuild the squad and keep us in the league. But notably outside of those 4 occassions last summer was our highest net spend in the period.

Cheers LK.
If we do sell Cahill we'll halve our net spend, at least for the time being!

I'd rather spend more money and be top, if truth be told, but there isn't much to boast about as a gooner these days, so have to grab every straw around!William the White wrote:Sssshhh... I'm around - sorry to disappoint ya Hoboh. Enjoy being top of the table whilst it lasts. Chances are it won't ever happen again in your lifetime
Am glad the fabregas saga is ended. Now just need to flog Nasri and buy some quality players that want to play for the club - yet somehow I don't feel like this season will be the season we start moving up that cash spent table...

Yeah, look at the rubbish Wenger has bought in in the past - Henry, Ljungberg, Pires, Campbell, Vieria, Fabregas, Overmars, Toure, Petit, Anelka etc etc All complete crap...Lofthouse Lower wrote:you'll need a new manager thenGooner Girl wrote:I'm around - sorry to disappoint ya Hoboh. You can take Rosicky, Almunia, Toure, Wreh, Eboue and Chamakh off that list for starters. They aren't shit, granted they aren't world class but i wouldn't call any of them crap signings. Toure certainly not. You clearly haven't watched Arsenal very often in Wengers reign.

Re: Premiership Net Spend
Seen plenty thanks love.
Chamakh - isn't he currently on a run of 1 in 23? That 1 being vs Leyton Orient?
Rosicky - fantastic for the Czech Republic, strangely unable to replicate that form under Wenger
Wreh - scored a screamer at the Bok, and after that?
Almunia -
Eboue - joke of a footballer. Booed by his own fans no less
Toure - shite.

Re: Premiership Net Spend
Toure isn't shite, you'd have him in your team, i bet, especially when Cahill goes, Eboue is an average all rounder who is very versatile, Almunia has had a few good seasons before he went crap, Wreh scored a number of very valuable goals in our 98 double year, Rosicky shows flashes of brilliance occasionally and Chamakh its too early to judge, he hasn't had many chances yet. None of them amazing signings, but also not what i would call 'crap' signings. All firmly in the average camp. Shortens your list somewhat though.
