Don't see what that has to do with anything. Wasn't enough to save Bosnich or Taibi! If this lad is good that's one thing, but he's going to need incredible mental strength if he makes a few more mistakes there. Especially if one ends up costing them a point or two!

Well I would suggest he's a better keeper than either, but moreover, I would say, in addition, United are a stronger team than they were then. Like it or not they are still, after all this time, the dominant team in this country.

Being better than 14 shit teams in The Prem aint Uniteds yardstick

Its aiming to be second best to Barca, and that won't happen with him gifting goals on a regular basis

Well no. But, even as Chelsea seemed to have accepted, the Premier League is their bread and butter. They'll happily play second fiddle to Barca for a couple of years yet, whilst they build. Which if you look, they are.

And he'll be better for the experience in a couple of years. When they are ready.

I personally cannot wait for Kevo to get him hands on him!

David Lacey in today's guardian tried to flog him to Arsenal (and made him MOTM).

I'd rather he signed a new contract...

Crossed my mind too. Cahill's the best replacement for Rio - for club and country - and would dovetail well with Phil Jones. Gaz would also fit United's insistence on resaleability. But... They're grooming Smalling for that role, they've spent big already this summer (and on a defender) and they might not want another relatively inexperienced defender. But then again, compared to the rest he's relatively experienced...

Hi angelos - you seem like a perceptive sort of egg. Stick around, be nice to get a different opinion from the usual suspects.

15 days to go and no bid........Surely this is not what Bolton expected. They could have sold him earlier if they were reasonable. i can see the last few days someone offering 8-10 million and say take it or leave it. Cahill will push for it and say he will not sign a new contract and Bolton will be forced to take it
