That's how I see it too.BWFC_Insane wrote:I really don't see what folk are struggling with here it happens all the time in football. It's up to City either they pay his wages in full for another season or they pay him a third or whatever to make up the difference saving themselves a considerable chunk in the process. We have agreed a fee with City, they are the ones paying SWPs wages. We will have said this is what we will offer you. If City want to give him a million quid to get him off their wage bill thus saving a further million and a half then it has nowt to do with us. We will not be paying off the difference in his salary as it's not our problem. If City are happy to pay him his full year for him to play in the reserves then they won't do this. Thier choice!
If memory serves, didn't Stephen Ireland demand a simlar payoff from City before he would go to Villa?

He's only bought one player from BarcElona...TANGODANCER wrote:With wanting to concentrate on his plans to buy the whole Barcalona team, Mancini will probably get fed up,wrap SWP in a Christmas cracker and drop him off at the Reebok.

For me I am not bothered how the deals are made as long as we end up with the players which want to play for Bolton and OC. I have got headache trying to work this one out.BWFC_Insane wrote:I really don't see what folk are struggling with here it happens all the time in football. I do not see why we cannot just sign him and say as part of the deal he will not play against City on Saturday?? All this he won't sign until we have played city is rubbish, like everything in Football these days its all about the money!!

Who else was offering Irealnd more money than Villa though?
City want shut of SWP, but he won't go to Wigan, who are offering the most. City still want a transfer fee. To get rid of him they are willing to hand over the transfer fee to him.
The question that no-ones asking is cui bono?

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Ah well, a minor development and if true then shows he's looking into all options. OC certainly does have patience and sticks very much to the 'only want players who want to join us' philosophy.

I have been reading his Twitterings for the last week and I certainly haven't seen anything controversial or offensive. Curiouser and curiouser.

He's maybe said one or two things he shouldnt have and somebody, maybe even OC himself, has said come on now Alan, find a balance between responding to queries and actually letting cats out of bags.

SWP gets first team football.
And we get the player we want.
It really is that simple. Hinges on whether we are the only team he wants to play for, and whether City are happy to save say only 2/3 of his wages. But you know they may prefer that option to having him sit around picking up full whack every week for another year.

More likely he or his family got some abuse through there and he decided it wasnt so much fun. Or venkys weren't so happy with him reporting all the rumblings at Blackburn and reported his account!ohjimmyjimmy wrote:He's maybe said one or two things he shouldnt have and somebody, maybe even OC himself, has said come on now Alan, find a balance between responding to queries and actually letting cats out of bags.

His last tweet last night seemed to be a pop at The Mirror for leaving out one of this scoops I think. Possibly to do with that?
Probably for the best as some of the stuff was cringy on there, with people hanging onto every word he said, and he seemed to enjoy it! Don't think you can doubt he's quite ITK when it comes to BWFC though.

So seeing as everyone in the world knows about it, and therefore secrecy plays no part, why not just give him the cash as a signing on fee, and pay less to City?
