Marc Iles should know better than this.
'Preparing a bid' is about a million miles away from any deal being near to completion, if indeed they will do it in the first place.
Ngog will not sign this week, if at all.

FFS Liverpool don't need to physically sign someone, they can just have a deal lined up then agree to the NGog sale.ohjimmyjimmy wrote:Marc Iles should know better than this.

Secondly nowhere does it say that NGog is signing this week. It merely says the deal should "click into gear".
It is the Merseyside press reporting a deal is imminent.

Well Raheem Sterling has confirmed on his twitter account that the Daily Mail story about Cahill is rubbish because players aren't allowed to go on loan if they're under the age of 17.

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Sky sports are saying Liverpool have also made enquiries into Ryan Shawcross' availability but Stoke aren't having any of it. Doesn't say alot but does prove Liverpool are looking into the possibility of bringing in a new centre back, and with their current 'buy british' philosophy a bid in for Cahill does seem quite likely.
Like always, an ideal situation would be a L'Pool/Arsenal bidding war but that doesn't seem like Wenger's style..

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
For the FINAL time Liverpool aren't buying Gary Cahill.
How many bloody times does this need saying?
And before anyone pipes up with some ridiculous "how do you know comment", the BN, the Liverpool echo and daily post and Nixon all say the same.
As opposed to the Daily Mail and Sun copying a ridiculous story made up on twitter a week ago that has already been denied by Bolton and Owen Coyle directly.
Add into the fact we've been talking to Liverpool about NGog for best part of a month. If they wanted Cahill I think they might have mentioned it in that period, and as Coyle has said, they haven't!!

No, because someone is bound to dredge up some speculation that is posted on twitter from a month old source or sommat.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Is that a promise?BWFC_Insane wrote:For the FINAL time Liverpool aren't buying Gary Cahill.
But I'll qualify it. Owt can happen, situations change. I'm sure Dalglish wants a centre back and I'm sure Cahill would be one he would consider. But as things stand he's not made an approach, and the more reliable elements of the press suggest he doesn't have the kind of money available it would take without selling.
If for some reason Liverpool raise a considerable amount of money, or we drop the price then who knows? But they won't be the only ones interested.
Just like OC has said we're not interested in Barton, but if all our midfielders were struck down with the plague at the weekend, and Barton suddenly dropped his wage demands by 50% then I'm sure that situation would change too.
But Cahill has apparently been signing for about 3 different clubs, 67 times each, for varyingly complex amounts of cash and convuluted player swaps. Not once has this come from a reliable source, and every time it has been denied by the likes of Nixon, Iles, and Coyle himself or combinations of the three.
What we do know is that some "elite clubs" registered an interest at the end of May/Start of June. I think we can assume that Arsenal are one of those, based on some very good journalists reporting as much especially from the Arsenal end. I think its also safe to assume City were interested but not anymore. And IMO the other club with registered interest is Spurs, but they don't currently have the money necessary. I believe Nixon has referred to them as being interested but only with player swaps that don't appeal.
It still remains to be seen how strong any of the interest in Cahill actually is. As it stands seeing as we were asked in May/June and still haven't received a bid I can only assume that either we have to drop the price or in reality nobody wants him that much. As it stands Arsenal are the most likely IMO, given they have the cash, but will Wenger remember the credit card pin before the window shuts?

Spurs have just bid 5M for Cahill, plus Crouch and Palacios, Rose on loan for the season and the tea lady till January to bake some scones (pronounced scons).
You heard it here first.
Cahill on his way for a medical at WHL as we speak!

Scohns is the only way to say it. OC can do no wrong!
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.
