A damn fine effort overall. Against that quality of opposition, the inability of one or two of our players to keep possession is patently obvious. Get Tuncay and another striker in though, and I'm convinced we'll win more than we lose at home this season.

Ultimately, when you are facing a team that has Ballotelli and Tevez on the bench, whilst you yourselves have Blake and Blakemen...well, let's put it this way, if you think too hard about it, you start to wonder why it's worth even having the fixtures.

Oh and if I didn't know better, I'd really feel that Reo-Coker was a replacement for Muamba.

Not really unexpected so not a total disaster. Can't deny, money or no, they have some really classy players. Silva is dynamite and Aguero really fast and strong. Bad defending and not too brilliant keeping for Barry's goal, or Dzeko's for that matter. Jussi not at his total best today. We still want too much time, something you can't have in this class of football. Davies got clogged every time the ball went near him from Kompany, Lescott and co, and got very little. Great headed goal too. Klasnic's fizzer was real top drawer stuff. Steinssen really got the run-around and Knight was all too easy meat for their ball players. Plus factor was we didn't cave in and kept fighting. Not every team's a Citeh and we're a better side by far than we were.

Disapointed but not down-hearted. Come on you Whites.

Pre-match I'd have loved anything better than the 0-2 at the end of last season. We got that so to be fair it's not a decent result really. At least it was a decent game and we scored a couple.

Very close! We should be proud of how we played today against a very good team.

Great match. City deserved their points but we never gave up and kept them on their toes throughout the game.

Excellent goals from Klasnic, Davies and Bareth Garry. Shit mistakes from Jussi and Knight, but plenty of positives to take from the game really.

We won't come up against many better front lines than Aguero/Silva/Dzeko. Silva being the best of those. Quality player.

We lacked a forward to bring off the bench. If we can get N'Gog and Boyata before the end of the window, and another winger- SWP or another- then I'm happy that we've got enough to keep chugging till January and be comfortably better than at least 1/3 of the teams in PL.

Petrov put in some great balls today too. Should end up with a fair few assists come May.

We have a good side. As good as we've had in the last 5 years.

And Reo Coker is possibly the best signing we've made since Anelka.

I hope I haven't jinxed it, but I'm really optimistic about this side for the first time in years. Played really well today.

I may be wrong, but judging from Coyle's comments, I don't think we'll be seeing SWP in a Bolton shirt any time soon.

Klasnic's goal was amazing.
Eagles looks great, really grew into the game.
Mark Davies looked great, can run through defences, nobody else in our team can.
Petrov smiling, and a wondercross for Klasnic's goal.
Cahill looks a world class defender.

Negatives:
Jussi looks a liability, first goal was outrageous keeping, the third he went to ground way too early. Most keeps would make themselves big, he just flapped. If I were a centre back, I'd be scared shitless having him behind me.
Reo-Coker. I lost count of the amount of times he gave the ball away through a bad pass or header. If he has to pass more than 6 metres, it's shite.
Even the 35 yard cross field pass to Petrov to set up Klasnic's goal?

Nige made a few good important tackles today, a lot more than what knight did when called upon! Jussi and Knight cost us today, absolutely abysmal today both of them. I think even De Gea would have saved that silva shot today. As for Barry's goal, who the feck was on the edge of the box for the second ball?! Not a single white shirt there at all. All of their goals today could have been prevented with simple things.

But on the whole, scoring twice against a team that plays effectively a back 7 aint too bad, just gutted about the way they scored their goals

Sometimes Moo does okay for me. Knight on the other hand... What ever happened to that Wheater fellow? And when is Ricketts due back?

This bollocks about NRC giving the ball away, his pass completion was 74% in a midfield outnumbered by Citys! That's impressive if you ask me. But hey folk remember 1 occasion where he gave it away and that clouds their whole judgement.

We did ok today, but gave away some wank goals. Knight had a shocking game again, terrible error for the third goal and if you want to talk pass completion, he's at 58%! Ultimately between his mistake and Jussis that's why we've lost.

Got to put it into context though, City were mighty impressive and had we not made those mistakes could more than likely have stepped up the pace anytime they liked!

I actually was referring to numerous occasions BWFC_I, not always through a bad pass either. His chest and headed control often gave the ball away. I'd still have him in the team, over Muamba to be honest, but I wasn't impressed with him on the whole, just thought he did ok. His short passing was fine, no question there.

City didn't play with a midfield 5 for 90 minutes either.

I'd be shocked if Knight passed even that high, most of his "passes" were just "hoofs" up field. I'd almost be tempted to blame Jussi for all three goals, but won't for fear of arguement.

Glad have mooched on here and found positivity!

Good game, think City had to work for those points. Yes, at least one goal was a bit of a gift but they were errors which were forced upon by some pretty decent play by City. I think they're going to push their higher profile neighbours all the way for the title.

Our lot? Well, a Zat Knight mistake, Davo getting nowt off the ref, Muamba breaking up every single Bolton attack just by getting involved - is just a regular day at the office. We are a Lee, Holden and Tuncay away from a half-decent team.

Gotta wonder why Mark Davies isn't playing instead of Muamba...or Pratley for that matter!
