Zat Knight
Very impressed with how we played for most of today and great effort. But when is Coyle going to see sense and finally drop zat knight.Never comfortable whenever he has the ball and is always prone to making an error or just hoofing it when wheater is a much better option with Cahill and they both looked good together last year

Knight had a good game overall... Wheater is a good replacement... neither is half a Cahill... The real nightmare is Knight/Wheater...

Knight is worth at least one massive f uck up per game. He's shite.
Re: Zat Knight
I agree.. He gets the ball and just fecking hoofs it up the pitch.. I remember him actually dribbling up the pitch second half for the first time all game and you could hear people's amazement in the crowd
amazing assist for Dzeko's goal aswell. People are saying he had a decent game but to many errors for me.. He wins headers etc.. And people say he did well because of that.. Once the ball is on the floor he is a liability and would have more grace on the ball if he was having a fit.

Exactly what I said to my mate yesterday. I have a vision of Alan Hansen ringfencing snippets on MotD to show just how bad/comical they are together.William the White wrote:The real nightmare is Knight/Wheater...

Re: Zat Knight
But I feel safer with wheater/cahill at the back than knight/cahill.
Knight/Wheater would be a nightmare but for the time being it should be wheater/cahill as everytime knight is on the ball or defending i think we are going to concede

Re: Zat Knight
Im gutted really bout Knight as he looked really good in parts yesterday but bloody appauling at the same time, made a quality bloke to stop tevez shot in second half, but then could of given a pen away to johnson when slid in! The 3rd goal was his fault from a shit clearance and then always on wrong side of the man!! He's good cover but starting to think more liability than out else??

Indeed. However, it appears not to tally with the thinking of OC. Didn't he make Knight captain for a few games last season?sean_taylor1995 wrote:But I feel safer with wheater/cahill at the back than knight/cahill.

I remember one block from Tevez (think it was Tevez), but other than that he was constantly on the back foot

Knightmare yesterday. 6 foot 7 and aguero beat him in the air 1st half and should have scored. Not as dominant as he should be for his size.

It's no good being decent enough for 95% of a match, when everybody knows that during the other 5% the oppo can and will score because of a mistake..

The cross and Aguero's positioning beat him.Turkish Trotter wrote:Knightmare yesterday. 6 foot 7 and aguero beat him in the air 1st half and should have scored. Not as dominant as he should be for his size.
Just like Petrov's cross and Klasnic's movement beat Kompany and/or Lescott for our first.
If you're gonna pick up on one aspect of Knight's performance it was his failure to get back behind Dzeko after initially winning a header in the run up to their third goal. We lost the second ball from his header and it went back over him for Dzeko to capitalize - he didn't get back in a good enough position after winning his initial header (he had to struggle to get around Dzeko to win it).
Not everyone can be brilliant 100% of the time. Jeez Louise.

Re: Zat Knight
Knight was playing against world class players
He's bound to look dodgy as he's nothing more than adequate
How anybody can say he played well, fcuk knows
His biggest weakness is that he gives players too much space
Stand off the likes of Aguerro by 5 yards and it'll bite you in the arse
Still, Coyle keeps picking him, despite spending 2 million on Wheater, so what do I know

If Coyle thinks he's better than Wheater, it still doesn't mean he's anything other than shite.. Just not AS shite.CAPSLOCK wrote:Knight was playing against world class players

For me his biggest weakness is that for his size, he's bloody soft. I could live with the mistakes if he were an imposing physical monster like Faye, who used his height and strength to intimidate opposing strikers and had a determined mentality.CAPSLOCK wrote:Knight was playing against world class players

But as it is, I always think he worries about how his game looks rather than concentrating on keeping the ball out of the net.
