Just seen the goals Tuncays pass inch perfect! for someone who quite possibily hasn't trained with the team yet he looked good and took his goal well!

Very relieved we turned it around. Got a Macc town supporting colleague who would have made my life tricky tomorrow.

(That said, he did come on the podcast and say Macc would lose 2-1 and Emile Sinclair would score for them, so I might be asking him for one or two tips)

Good result though, and great to see Tuncay get off to a stormer.

Nearly lost to Macclesfield?! Snigger!

How can you nearly lose when you win 2-1 and have eighty four chances to make it a cricket score? Nearly losing is equalising in the 94th minute. Nearly drawing is what Arsenal did at the Reebok, and then we scored again.

Both our goals were very well taken. Have to say Bogdan was a bit slow in not coming out for their goal. Great through ball for it that left our defence for dead, but I thought he could have got there first had he moved quicker initially. Might be nit-picking I suppose.

can't help but notice that only riley, I am assuming that he is on number 39, running back.

Whilst it's nice to see a few of the hopefuls mixed in with a bit of experience, please remember that the team we played yesterday was Macclesfield. Last time I looked M.T. was three levels below us. Two weeks ago we slotted in four against QPR and last weekend two against the much vaunted Manchester Blues. Apart from having a first look at Mr T. (and a sprinkling of wannabes) I don't think I'll be taking too much joy away from this match. 2-1 against a team of minnows - no offence intended, Macclesfield fans, I'm sure that you are as passionate about your team as we are of ours - is hardly awe inspiring.

Our next league game looms upon the horizon, so I'll pocket my pessimism for the time being.

He was brilliant last night. Looked more comfortable than Alonso ever has. Albeit on the opposite flank.

Was interesting to see that we switched to a 4-3-3 midway through the first half. But unfortunately both our wide players in this 3 decided they didn't to bother being anywehere near their own full-backs, so Alonso and Riley were exploited on a couple of occasions. I thought Riley was poor first half, but grew into the game. Blakeman was impressive on the other side.

I thought Tuncay only started playing in the second half, when he dropped into the midfield thanks to the introduction of K. Davies. And I reckon Mark Davies only just pipped him to MOM.

O'Halloran showed nothing that makes me think he'll make it. Terrible miss, but he worked hard.. He just lacks key ingredients on first impressions

Nice to hear Riley and Blakeman have good debuts. Obviously Tuncay too. Be interesting to see where he slots into the team.

Aye. Though apparently Bogdan had started to come for it, then stopped, then started again which was probably why he was a bit miffed.

Loving Zat Knight's work in that too, just letting the lad get the run on him.

There was one ridiculous moment in the first half where Knight herded the back 4 higher up the pitch as the midfield was getting too much space (the right thing to do, I'm sure we all agree) as the rest of the back line jogged level with him, Knight then proceeded to just sprint backwards for no apparent reason leaving a 10 yard gap between himself and the rest of the backline.

The rather clever forward spotted this and ran directly bhind Wheater and across Knight, but luckily for us the pass to him went astray.. I could do nothing but piss myself at his ineptness.

And the less said about that 'slide tackle' the better, when he just went to ground for no reason at all and got absolutely nowhere the ball.. Nor the man luckily!

The guy is just abysmal.

My favourite piece of comedy defending was when Marcos Alonso slipped over on the edge of our area and then seemingly tried grasping the ball with his hands as he hit the floor.
