Only ever seen it once, about 12 years ago. Can't really remember it though.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
There's $5 dvds at a servo, I couldn't resist.
Got Manchurian Candidate, New X-Files and a three pack with Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and KF Hustle.
Should have just got the three pack for a real bargain.
Last night some people came over, I showed a guy some of my dvds and he wanted to watch a doctor who, he did;
he watched all four parts which took us to 1am, making me miss the start of MAnu - Arsenul. (I taped it on 13 min delay)
Then afterwood he came out and said he wanted to watch Meet Joe Black, he did; in FULL (or there abouts) (it's 10 mins off being a three hour movie)
Didn't leave till four. People tried to make him leave but he was adament he was staying till the end

Didn't record Eraserhead in the end, just Shutter Island.

Watched Shutter last night - Not to be confused with Shutter Island that you've been talking about. Really liked it. Quite spooky and featuring one or two hot Japanese girls. Lovely.

Just watched the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Spectacular.

ooh - you reminded me of that John Hegley Poem...TANGODANCER wrote:Just watched the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Spectacular.
I'm afraid I won't be going to the Edinburgh
tattoo
because to me
a parade of weaponry
and the capacity to hurt
is about as pleasing as dog dirt
on the shoe
only poo
is easier than the tattoo
to get rid of
to you
it may be taboo
to poo-poo
the tattoo
but to me
the tattoo
is something to say tat-ta to

Out of boredom more than style I'm watching U2's set at Glastonbury on Magic Sky. It's actually better than I originally thought it to be.
Paul Hewson really is an absolute prick though.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Very droll. Apart from a short sketch on dealing with modern day piracy, it was all about precision marching, highland dancing, a fantastic display by the Royal Marine drummers, massed bands of just about everywhere and a communal sing-song. Hardly a weapon in sight unless you count the bandmasters baton which would probably look rather good protruding from John Hegley's sanctimonious rectum.thebish wrote:ooh - you reminded me of that John Hegley Poem...TANGODANCER wrote:Just watched the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. The poet said no
To a festival show,
In case he sat on
A bandmaster's baton.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Well, since racing about with a cannon is an excercise in speed, coordination and teamwork whilst assembling an object, firing it at anyone is a bit all-in-the-mind stuff to me in a display. But hey, don't let me stop a spectacular return, do carry on. Welcome back.thebish wrote:TANGODANCER wrote:

I am sure they used to have teams racing to assemble a canon - drag it over an obstacle course - then fire it (blanks)..
maybe before your time?

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Don't be silly. The Battle of Hastings wasn't before my time. Of couse they do. Hardly a weapon of mass destruction firing one blank shot at a dsiplay though is it? Certainly not worth writing protest poems about. I'll allow for jet lag clouding your judgement for a day or two.thebish wrote:I am sure they used to have teams racing to assemble a canon - drag it over an obstacle course - then fire it (blanks)..maybe before your time?

Yesterday, my bezzie mate told me, and, bear in mind that this conversation was held on licensed premises, and as such veracity is beyond questionTANGODANCER wrote:dealing with modern day piracy

Is that even remotely plausible?

Re: What are you watching tonight?
To be honest, I watched Eggheads first and came into the Tatoo a bit late so I can't/wouldn't contest that because I didn't hear it. Could well be the case. Bish's poem smacked a bit of over-the-topness describing a Tattoo is all. Mind you, if I was being attacked by armed pirates I wouldn't refrain from giving them a blast or two of heavy-bass decibells.
