It'll be quiet on here today because Alan Nixon is busy teasing Blackburn fans with a mystery big-name, exciting striker signing who he won't name....

My sources indicate it is Yakubu of Everton.

He's named Yakubu though, so it isn't him!Lofthouse Lower wrote:My sources indicate it is Yakubu of Everton.
Blackburn don't seem to have a clue what they are doing though!

We should be leading this chase.....Stoke have approached Chelsea with a view to signing striker Romelu Lukaku on loan, BBC Sport understands

Isn't possible.. If I remember rightly.. A player can't be loaned out in the same window he has been bought and registered at a new club.Lofthouse Lower wrote:We should be leading this chase.....Stoke have approached Chelsea with a view to signing striker Romelu Lukaku on loan, BBC Sport understands

really?? haven't players been bought and loaned back to the clubs they were bought from?ChrisC wrote:Isn't possible.. If I remember rightly.. also - what's the real, factual, proper answer to the loans question? some seem adamant you can only loan ONE player from an individual club - whereas I am sure someone on the telly (so it must be true) recently said you could loan more than one from an individual club...

No, the telly is wrong in this case.

You can loan 2 I think ... And where clubs loan back they havn't registered them to play so can loan them. I think that is the way round it anyway. I have 100% read a rule stating a player can't be loaned out in the same window they was bought and registered with a new club.

by 'register' do you mean register in the squad of 25 or whatever? Because I don't think that applies to u-21s.ChrisC wrote:You can loan 2 ... You definitively can loan only 1 from any club according to the premier league rules.ChrisC wrote:You can loan 2 ... And where clubs loan back they havn't registered them to play so can loan them. Seems a pretty fundamental thing - if Stoke COULDN'T loan him, why would they publicise that they want to?
