And, of course, you'd be saying exactly the same of him had he signed for Spurs.

You probably said the same of Cygan and Senderos, too.

You figured out that he hasn't gone yet, then? :D.

Mertesacker isn't that shit, you'd think he was Nikola Zigic playing centre half reading this thread. Who knows how he'll take to the pace of English football though, which is why Cahill would've been the safer bet. Don't know how much they're paying for Mertesacker though.

I wouldn't say he's cack. Mertesacker is a pretty good, no nonsense defender (an improvement on what they have) who rarely picks up bookings (what they definitely need) and doesn't concede many fouls. That would mean he's positionally very sound and makes up for his lack of pace.

Better than Zat Knight but not as good as Cahill, for comparison's sake.

got a spurs mate and on his forum they say fee been agreed with us for Cahill! Finding out more info! think this is going to be sorted which will then be a knock on effect for players coming into to us.

Really don't think Cahill would go to Spurs even if we accept a fee for him. He wants Champions League football, surely it's in his best interest to see out his contract with us for a year, and then get a move to one of the big clubs, rather than settle for Spurs.

He will go to Spurs IF they match the fee we want. Redknapp needs to sell first. Still can't see it happening, but wouldn't surprise me with Redknapp, owt is possible.

We can agree a fee, but we can't force him to go can we?

Agreed. He'll go if we let him.

That much is obvious.

Blackburn agree 5m fee with Birmingham for Dann, would have liked him over Onouha if Cahill should go.

10.16am: Here's Stuart James with news from St Andrew's: "Reliably told that Birmingham have not yet received any bids for Cameron Jerome, Scott Dann or Liam Ridgewell." Could be a very bad day for Blues transfer-wise. Jean Beausejour was linked with Wigan in one of the tabloids this morning. Exodus on the cards?

I don't think our Gary would warrant such shock to be honest with you...
