Sounded absolutely miserable, didn't he? Most rehearsed answer to "why did you join?"plymouth wanderer wrote:SWP (on SSN) sounds enthusiastic
Also just spotted a Davies quote on BBC if anyone cares:
Bolton captain Kevin Davies tells BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan what he has been up to on transfer deadline day: "It's good to get away from the deadline day madness, we've been given some time off so I'm on holiday with my family in Spain. The rumours make me laugh, I heard one on the radio earlier that I was spotted at Arsenal!"

I don't think it counts as luck when you choose to be a United fan. Not like they are born with it, is it? Glory hunting imbecilesWe might not sign a star but, let's face it, we're lucky to be United fans; other clubs' supporters are hanging around stadiums, getting excited about signing the likes of Cameron Jerome and Peter Crouch.

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
yeah anyone who is daft enough to piss 60k a week away on SWP deserves all they get! I wanted to sign him, he would have been a good acquisition for us, but on reasonable wages for a couple of years. plus his dad acts the c*nt if he's ever dropped/criticised
stoke fans are generally a prehistoric bunch, we can all testify to that surely from last April? a very high Neanderthal ratio!

Thought it was New Years Eve then.
It's shut. Cahill stays. Hmmm.

SWP said thanks to Bolton, Wigan and Stoke for showing an interest but in the end it was an easy decision to make to join QPR!
(lets assume that London was the attraction eh? and not that he favoured their style of football and chances of winning things over yours...?!)

Ahhh, was that the reason?! He grew up in London, so that with cash i guess was an obvious choice. Would he have got regular games for you if he had signed?LiOC wrote:(Or the fact they were chucking cash at him and we weren't, shall we ignore that too?)Gooner Girl wrote:SWP said thanks to Bolton, Wigan and Stoke for showing an interest but in the end it was an easy decision to make to join QPR!![]()

We wanted him to take a serious pay cut to join us apparently whereas QPR did not need that!Gooner Girl wrote:Ahhh, was that the reason?! Not necessarily. We have Petrov, Tuncay and Eagles as wingers (now Kakuta too and of course Chungy is gonna be back at some point) so it's not like we're desperate for quality, just depth. More than he would at City but not a guaranteed starter.

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Personally very happy that OC has worked pretty hard at trying to keep promises. Think he's done really well and we still have Cahill, something I hope others will regret in time. Also hope Cahill puts it all behind him for now and concentrates on playing well for us. Given our somewhat limited war chest we've done pretty well. Well done the man. Not even had to burn the midnight oil and suffer the wailing wall of past windows. Well, not much.

Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Still notice Ol' Twitcher's attempts to unsettle Cahill. Hope he scores the winner for us against them
Pfffft.

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
i think it's been a cracking window we have removed alot of the dead wood and bought some cracking players in top job by Coyle and Gartside
also we owe a big thankyou to Eddie Davies for his support if we are so hard up and in financial crisis he would of sold Cahill even morso that he is in the last year of his contract and we stand to lose him for nothing at the end of the season and to be honest who would off blamed him
Here is to a good season

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Correct me if i'm wrong but with regards to our estimated financial spend;
Fee's generated from Matty Taylor (hit and miss) and Danny Ward (unused squad player and destined to always remain a 'prospect') = Chris Eagles (first eleven material) + Mears (potential first choice rb??)
and
money from the sale of Ali Al Habsi (unused, second choice goalkeeper) = David N'Gog (destined first eleven)
Great work by Owen to stay loyal to the ethos of the club in selling to buy, making the most off free transfers on cut wages, and getting some great prospects from big 4 clubs on loan.
