Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Considering how often he plays for you I would say you need two more defenders. In January I would recommend you try to buy Sean Davis from us. He isn't a defender but is always injured. RVP must be due an injury soon. Lets see what happens tomorrow.Abs wrote:We have vermaelen who is twice the player Cahill is. We need someone with presence and dominant in the air. Anyway you will lose him for free and your chairman made a huge mistakelovethesmellofnapalm wrote:Abs wrote:lol he rejected spurs......its clear he wanted arsenal. next year son next year
why?
surely you dont need a quick tackling, cultured, ball playing centre half when you've just signed one with the turning circle of the Titanic?
btw- is Arteta injured yet?
Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Cahill will sign a new contract with us. You heard it here first or maybe second or even third!!!!!
Gut feeling that's all it is.

Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

So, we're all in agreement that Cahill is ace once again then?

Always rated Cahill, John Terry is not fit to wash his boots. His composure on the ball is superb.

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
There is of course a delicious irony in how his summer has panned out. United and Liverpool have spent their entire summer hoovering up young English talent, something at which Wenger used to be himself a disciple of, but he's clearly been under pressure to add backbone (Arteta!) and experience from his board. Which in a beautiful way means he's missed out on one of this country's finest young centre halves, just as the lad is becoming a bit of a fixture with the England team, because he wouldn't pay the going rate for young English talent.
And yet he'd pay £10m for Alex double-barrel-whatsitsface, and a German lump. Thats FUBAR logic in my eyes.

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
lool....he will leave on a free next summer. End of the day we could have gotten him easily, but didnt think he was worth the fee you wanted for a player who has 12 months on his contract.Annoyed Grunt wrote:No, he would have missed it, just like he misses fouls and the like caused by his.players.Hoboh wrote:ARE YOU WATCHING ARSENAL WENGER??? If he signs a new contract, your chairman deserve respect. if he leaves on free, which everyone expects him to do....then he made a huge mistake. Elmander this year and Cahill next which you will get 0 pound for

You could have got him easily? I think you over-estimate your clubs abilities in the transfer market, i mean in the end you had to settle for Yossi Benayoun.Abs wrote:lool....he will leave on a free next summer. And the fact you've compared Elmander and Arteta shows you really are clueless

Oh, and is this you?

We all win and lose in the Bosman market, we've probably had more wins than losses over the years...
I do expect Cahill to leave on a free, but our chances of a safe finish are higher with him here, as are our chances of finishing higher up the league at £800k a place. Would've been nice and exciting to spend £8m on a forward, but we have to have faith in our manager who identified the weak areas in the squad and filled them with players which weren't panic buys.

All very good my man, trouble is, when he's on a free next year, you won't be able to compete with the wages he gets offered by non-scrooge like managers elsewhere. he won;t be at Arsenal if he leaves for free.Abs wrote:lool....he will leave on a free next summer.
