I don't think you're quite getting the hang of this glory hunting Harry.
You've actually been to Barcelona. You're practically a local.

My Grandad has just informed me he once listened to a Beatles album, so I've decided to become a Liverpool fan. Don't worry I'm not a glory hunter, he listened to the album in the 50s but it's ok, I occasionally take pity on my local team too.

I like how this is a reply to an LL postHarry Genshaw wrote:Lofthouse Lower wrote:The ironing is delicious![]()
To be honest I'm not worried about this game as really I'm a Barcelona fan. My Grandad went on holiday there a few years ago and decided to support them so I became a fan as well. Still keep an eye on my local team though

This is always a difficult fixture for me - after all, I watched 24hr Party People a couple of times.

My mother is a Scouser, doesn't mean I'd support Liverpool.

Of course not, that'd be a valid reason to support another team.Owenzy wrote:LiOC wrote:My Grandad has just informed me he once listened to a Beatles album, so I've decided to become a Liverpool fan. Tell me, why did he choose United over the other Manc team?
I'm sick of United fans and their ridiculously vague "reasons" trying to justify their glory hunting.

You see I was there with Gramps. Beatles never had an album in the 1950s.LiOC wrote:Oh dearMontreal Wanderer wrote:I'm afraid Granddad wasn't entirely honest with you, LiOC...LiOC wrote:My Grandad has just informed me he once listened to a Beatles album, so I've decided to become a Liverpool fan. Anyway, typo included it's as likely to be true as what the manure fan spouted!

We shouldn't even be talking about these f uckers, nevermind letting them register
Re: I come in peace... (2.0) i.e. a Manchester United fan
Utd were champions three times during the 1950's. City didn't win it once. So it looks like glory hunting runs in the family.Owenzy wrote:How the hell am I supposed to know. City weren't shite back then anyway.

City were actually a very successful team back in the 60's with Mike Sumerbee and Colin Bell, etc. Anyway, he started attending games in the late 50's, roughly around the time of Munich.BL3 wrote:Utd were champions three times during the 1950's. Also, in case you didn't know, United have a strong Irish link, as does the city of Manchester. Tony Dunne, a fellow Dub, is one of our highest appearance makers. Shay Brennan was an Irish International. Paddy Crerand, although he is Scottish, both of his parents hail from Donegal. Liam Whelan, one of the Busby Babes who died, was also another Dub. I could go on and on without even mentioning modern Irish players such as Keane, Irwin and O'Shea (hero).

Arsenal have a strong Irish link. Chelsea don't.

Irish teams probably have a lot of Irish players too, and Rohan Ricketts.
