Who?
Anyway, Tony Dunne played for us, as did Jason McAteer and Owen Coyle, so I expect us to have millions of Irish fans.

The English clubs take all the good ones. Shamrock Rovers in Europe this season, Celtic and Rangers aren't.Beefheart wrote:Irish teams probably have a lot of Irish players too, and Rohan Ricketts.

See, loads.
One might be tempted to suggest that its got f*ck all to do with Irish links, and more trophy links.

McAteer is a gobshite. Owen Coyle is Scottish. This is when the good ol' Granny rule comes into play.Lord Kangana wrote:See, loads.

Nice try but City won the title once in the 60's, Utd won it twice...Owenzy wrote:City were actually a very successful team back in the 60's with Mike Sumerbee and Colin Bell, etc. Anyway, he started attending games in the late 50's, roughly around the time of Munich.

No, I'll support any player who wears the green shirt. McAteer is a gobshite though. I wouldn't mind if Coyle eventually became the Ireland manager. He'd hopefully give some of the youngsters a chance.Lord Kangana wrote:So you selected who you supported playing for your national team aswell then?

They also won an FA Cup, League Cup and a Cup Winner's Cup.BL3 wrote:Nice try but City won the title once in the 60's, Utd won it twice...Owenzy wrote:City were actually a very successful team back in the 60's with Mike Sumerbee and Colin Bell, etc. Anyway, he started attending games in the late 50's, roughly around the time of Munich.

...and Utd also won an F.A. Cup and a European Cup during the same decade. I can't believe you don't know any of this if they're your team, or did you jump on the bandwagon after the 25 years without a title?Owenzy wrote:They also won an FA Cup, League Cup and a Cup Winner's Cup.BL3 wrote:Nice try but City won the title once in the 60's, Utd won it twice...Owenzy wrote:City were actually a very successful team back in the 60's with Mike Sumerbee and Colin Bell, etc. Anyway, he started attending games in the late 50's, roughly around the time of Munich.

You, sir, are an awful troll. Wait, what? We won a European Cup in the 60's? And here was me thinking that we won our first European Cup in 99. Wow.BL3 wrote:...and Utd also won an F.A. And you, sir, are a glory-hunting Clint Dempsey.

You're the one trying to pretend that it was a tough choice between City and United for the glory hunters back then. It wasn't. The League Cup was nowhere near as prestigious as the F.A. Cup. Even Third Division teams like QPR and Swindon won it prior to City. As for comparing the Cup Winners Cup to the European Cup, that's a bit like comparing the Johnstone's Paint Trophy to the F.A. Cup.Owenzy wrote:You, sir, are an awful troll. Wait, what? We won a European Cup in the 60's? And here was me thinking that we won our first European Cup in 99.
