I've never had an injury like this before where my knee started hurting straight after a run and 3 weeks later it's still giving me gip. Fortunately, I had the joint thoroughly tested and theres no actual knee problem, it's just a tightening of the various muscles around the back and legs. I've always been pretty good in warm ups and cool downs but I've had to really up my stretching sessions in the hope it will go away eventually.

I'm sure this enforced rest will do me good in the long run. Any road, do you fancy this marathon place? Saturday 29th October. It's been sold out a while and is supposed to be a good un. Go on, you know you want to :)
Not for me, thanks. I have my deferred place for London to prep for and would be nowhere near an October marathon. Sounds like you're having ITB trouble. Give it a google.

Was dragged out by my running partner this evening. it was cold, dark and wet and i wanted to bottle it and go home but he somehow persuaded me and i was glad he did. Was faster then last week. Now i just need the motivation to get out at least once more a week...

Have a Sussex Cross Country League earmarked for my 'great comeback' (haha :? )

Well done GG, we're just approaching that time of year when you really have to force yourself out, but you're always glad when you do. Me, Mrs G & our dog have all been out this evening and did a wet but enjoyable 6 miles. Knee felt not too bad at all.

Thanks for the shout on the IT band Gary. Certainly many of the symptoms match without the inflammation. More stretching ahead methinks

Yeah, am glad i did, though now hot, sweaty and in desperate need of a bath. Can;t beat sinking into a nice hot bubbly bath after a wet, cold and muddy run, makes it all worthwhile!

You must have a super fit dog. Mine can't even walk for 10 min without sounding like he's about to have a heart attack, bless him! (though he is nearly 16...)

Aww bless. My dogs 9 going on 10 and 6 miles is the furthest we run with him. He's starting to slow down and each time I think it's probably his last time doing it then he surprises me. Tonight, right at the end when I thought he was flagging he shot off to chase a cat. Never catches em mind :)

He's a rescue dog. A bloodhound x they said. Basically a black & tan hound, long velvety ears but no jowels. I know I'm bias but he's gorgeous :D

I was going to, but surprised to find I didn't have any of him on this laptop. I'll try and sort one out in the very near future. Any road, lets have a look at yours!

My little fella isn't looking forward to winter. His legs are only six inches long.
