I remember 10yrs ago coming home from college at lunchtime, and sitting down to watch BBC News when it went straight to the footage. Thing is, I remember the second plane hitting the tower, but my memory of it was that it happened live - though seeing it back since the plane was never shown going in.....

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Remember getting on the school bus, and a lad in my year asking me if I'd heard about planes being flown into the twin towers. I was expecting a punch line.

Just watching House of Sand and Fog. Recorded it last week. Owt with Ben Kingsley in it'll do for me. Is he really from Swinton?

The One show just highlighted the plight of battery chickens, though could have done more to inform consumers about how crappy the enriched cage system is...

To be honest, I think most people know that caged hens = a rather barbaric thing, despite not knowing the ins and outs of factory farming. What sould be highlighted further is which food manufacturers are actually supporting it by buying their eggs.Gooner Girl wrote:The One show just highlighted the plight of battery chickens, though could have done more to inform consumers about how crappy the enriched cage system is...

I read snippets in the paper yesterday and I expect to, too. How the hell could you possibly cope with something like that and not come out as a dufusLofthouse Lower wrote:Saw that, came out of it with a different opinion of the bloke

Guys - House of Sand and Fog. Just finished watching it. Now, I know I'm no Barry Norman, but, having never even having heard of it I magic Sky'd it just because it has Ben Kingsley in it. It's an absolutely superb film and I urge you all to either put it on your LF lists or just buy it.
I can't understand how come I've never heard of it being talked about in glowing terms. Has everyone heard of it but me?
Kingsley's performance is stunning, as is that of the woman playing his wife who manages to draw you in on a real emotional level. Fittie out of Requiem for a Dream and Brilliant Mind is no slouch in it either.
