Re: What are you watching tonight?
Indeed. Most battery eggs used in this country these days are hidden inside food anyway, quiches, cakes etc. Thats what needs to be publicised on telly to educate the consumer. As you say, most people (unless they are complete, uncaring bastards) will be aware enough to buy free range eggs off the shelf but i'll bet most don't look at the packaging of other products they buy that contain egg. As i have mentioned before, Bish and i work for the BHWT (http://www.bhwt.org.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) rescuing ex battery chickens. Hopefully they as a charity are going to roll out some stuff to take into schools to educate the kids who will one day be buying food about all things 'egg'...Bruce Rioja wrote:To be honest, I think most people know that caged hens = a rather barbaric thing, despite not knowing the ins and outs of factory farming. What sould be highlighted further is which food manufacturers are actually supporting it by buying their eggs.Gooner Girl wrote:The One show just highlighted the plight of battery chickens, though could have done more to inform consumers about how crappy the enriched cage system is...

Has to be the bacon and cheese kind mind, not one of those with skanky vegtables hiding in it.thebish wrote:surely there is nobody left who actually eats Quiche???Gooner Girl wrote:Indeed. Come on, let's not drift away from the main point here. If the main (or even just a) constituent ingredient of a food product is egg then the manufacturer will source the cheapest eggs, and the egg producer will do so at minimal cost.Gooner Girl wrote:I like quiche. Never mind that, millions of battery eggs a year are falsely sold as free range.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

If it doesn't advertise itself as containing 'free range egg' then generally it will be battery egg is my rule of thumb.thebish wrote:there's quite a list that don't to be going on with... there's a list here:Bruce Rioja wrote:

In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind

Re: What are you watching tonight?
seen it before , he got oscar nominated for it. [the film] were pretty raved about at the time.Bruce Rioja wrote:Guys - House of Sand and Fog. Just finished watching it. Now, I know I'm no Barry Norman, but, having never even having heard of it I magic Sky'd it just because it has Ben Kingsley in it. It's an absolutely superb film and I urge you all to either put it on your LF lists or just buy it.
I can't understand how come I've never heard of it being talked about in glowing terms. Has everyone heard of it but me?
Kingsley's performance is stunning, as is that of the woman playing his wife who manages to draw you in on a real emotional level. Fittie out of Requiem for a Dream and Brilliant Mind is no slouch in it either.
theres a book if thats yr thing (reading books)

Indeed. Fatally flawed, too. As I mentioned on here - if these tablets make you so clever then you shouldn't have any bother in working out their recipie for yourself.Lofthouse Lower wrote:Rubbish wasn't it? Black Swan is a big favourite, and not just because Mila Kunis* is in it. its brilliant! Barbara Hershey should have won the oscar for this.Lofthouse Lower wrote:Tonight I have to choose from:

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Is that true? Do you have a source for that? Because I'm a free range buyer and would like to know that's what I'm buying.Lord Kangana wrote:Never mind that, millions of battery eggs a year are falsely sold as free range.
