Re: What are you playing tonight?
I saw swathes of impish people piling out of the Apollo last night. The newly crowned Mercury Music Prize winner was on. I saw her a couple of months ago in Barcelona and was pretty bored to be honest!
Is that the best we can do - the umpteenth PJ Harvey album winning all the plaudits? Do me a favour!

PJ Harvey's just one of these that it's 'cool' to like. She couldn't carry a tune in a bucket!

Can't be any worse than the year when 'Anthony and the Johnsons' won

Couldn't tell you, Bish. I get the same what-the-4uck-is-this-shit? feeling whenever I hear anything by Bjork, too.thebish wrote:she has totally passed me by - what is she famous for? has she got a most famous song?Bruce Rioja wrote:PJ Harvey's just one of these that it's 'cool' to like. Mate watched a Who? tribute band in The Railway last week - said they were the worst band he's ever seen.TANGODANCER wrote:Just saw this in the BN and wondered if it might be of interest to you rock fans. The acoustics in Bolton Albert Hall are the worst in the world. I doubt that I even want to watch the real Led Zep there, but thanks anyway, chap.

Re: What are you playing tonight?
Discovered a band....
I am not allowed to listen to them as I found out they are 'openly' Satanic
After listening to them I now don't think Deicide are the best heavy stuff going around!
the band has a cd coming out and it's free international postage if it's pre-ordered
I won't name the band, but if anyone wants to know I will and will post their free / legal mp3 from thier official site.

Deicide were never the "best heavy stuff going around".
And the lead singer of Decide is openly satanic too.

Re: What are you playing tonight?
Deicide are the only heavy band I've really heard.
I've bought a few other quite heavy stuff, but Deicide are still my fave.
the band I just found though; they are great, still not allowed to listen or talk about it though

2399 you don't know any HEAVY bands or Death Metal?
If you like heavy I suggest you check out Gentleman's Pistols, The Wildhearts, Orange Goblin, Queens of the Stone Age, Motorhead, Iron Maiden.
Stay away from the Death Metal shit. It's shit. Unless you're 12. Manowar is another must avoid along with Cradle of Filth.
Better yet, get some Van Halen in your life.
Re: What are you playing tonight?
Just put 'Raining Blood' by Slayer on repeat. Forever.

Re: What are you playing tonight?
The other night when I downloaded the band, I also got some other stuff,
One was 'Vader' who on the thing I got did a Raining Blood Cover
I've got quite alot of Iron Maiden and a few Motorhead Albums.
Haven't got Maidens newest though, I should.
I only like a few certain songs of Deicide; I'll buy whatever I can though if it's cheap!
The only Slayer I've heard is the start of God Hates us All (the album, not the song (but the first track leads into it though)); I love it, and will one day buy the album just for that.
I've got the Undisputed Attitude Slayer Cover Album though.
Once I saw Motorhead; they were supported by Rose Tattoo and Airbourne!
Saw Iron Maiden as well a while back, should of saw them again when they came out recently but didn't.
Alright I will mention the band I found an ep of the other night... ARCHGOAT

A lot of the tracks I've got on my iPod is old stuff like Sepultura,Carcass, Slayer, Obituary. Late 80's stuff.
Re: What are you playing tonight?
Queens of the stone age are shit, that ginger nice person is as much as a moron as Glen Benton, yet he gets critical acclaim for being in a band with that over-rated drummer from Nirvana, who now makes the most radio friendly, vomit inducing, dull as dishwater excuse for 'rock music'. Also I hope youre not trying to suggest Manowar are death metal, and alot of death metal fans think cof are shit anyway. I suggest you check out Carcass, the best death metal band!Gary the Enfield wrote:Annoyed Grunt wrote:Deicide were never the "best heavy stuff going around".

Re: What are you playing tonight?
What do you mean about Behemoth?
I'll check out Carcass soon
Just flicked it on new music show;
Alice Cooper with I'll bite your face off.
There's a clearance Cooper CD that's been at a place for ages, next week I should buy it, it's School's Out.
I got a patch of Benton with a cd that has his mark on his forehead.
It says His name for President.
Think I've lost it.

I would have said they were more grindcore than death metal.spikeykev wrote:Queens of the stone age are shit, that ginger tw*t is as much as a moron as Glen Benton, yet he gets critical acclaim for being in a band with that over-rated drummer from Nirvana, who now makes the most radio friendly, vomit inducing, dull as dishwater excuse for 'rock music'.
