same as i posted on w/ways ...take a look at page 34/35 of this google book ...we lost 15,000 fans , who turned their backs on us when the events of Munich took place ... This will explain to the original poster coming in peace as to why we won't be answering his patronising questions ... it just won't happen

In which case he really, deep down, is the sort of prson who began my dislike of Stretford fans. Those who had to more or less go past Burnden to get to Satan's nest. I never understood that, not for a minute.
I think he was referring to BL3 the member and choosing Option B, born and bred in Manchester.
However, I may be mistaken.
You're not mistaken. That's exactly what he was saying.

I can't see anything in that letter that says those 15,000 have become MUFC fans. The way I read it, it's simply yet another mention of dwindling attendances.

They'll come back when Ridding goes.

it does on page 35 quote : "Bolton Wanderes have reached Wembley after about 15.000 regular supporters turned their back on them-an even more remarkable feat. The Wandererswill be the cheapest side ever to play at Wembleyin the final and i think they will prove themselves to be one of the best .."

Whether this was true i can't actually say

Yeah, I read the letter buddy - but I don't think the writer is blaming the rags. Just seems to be the old missing-fans complaint. I may be wrong.

It is odd. It doesn't actually say it, but I inferred a causality. It is a lot of fans to lose at once, but then it doesn't say they went at once. I'd never realised that final was fought in bad blood previously.
