Re: bolton chants
Both anti-boing chants existed. I was on the Paddock that night, LK.
Easy to mock this thread but it serves a worthy purpose. What songs aren't nicked, or shared? We Keep Chickens In Our Back Yard?

No, it really wasn't.
Re: bolton chants
Take no notice - it's not bad. Just an issue with the number of syllables in 'number seventeen', that's all

Re: bolton chants
When did chants really start ?
The first I seem to remember was "Freddie Hill is God", and John Byrom Byrom Byrom.
I think these were mid sixties(could have been later), I cannot remember much chanting before these.

First I remember was 'Lloyd George Knows My Father', early 60s, Embankment. Why that song? Not the faintest idea.Turkish Trotter wrote:When did chants really start ?

Re: bolton chants
You have to remember that chants can't be too complicated because they won't stick in people's heads
I always liked the comedy songs or the ones that fan started in reaction to something going on.
And we've also stopped singing about our older players besides Owen

Any translation available for someone with English as their first language?
