I hope we don't rush him in and doesn't play for another two of our matches. We can't risk hm getting injured again and he said himself, he still needs time to get to full fiitness.

I hope we don't rush him in and doesn't play for another two of our matches. We can't risk hm getting injured again and he said himself, he still needs time to get to full fiitness.

Leave it to the physios, if he's fully fit, and knee is 100% right (and I assume thats the case given he's playing reserve games on poor pitches), then only way he'll get fully match fit is by getting minutes in the premier league. On the bench saturday for me, IF physios say thats ok!

Credit to the USA coach encouraging him to take his time and he's going to have his place in the team when he's fit no matter what!

"Bolton manager Owen Coyle has backed Stuart Holden to make a strong return for club and country after the United States midfielder took another step towards first-team football with a run-out for the reserves in front of his national head coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

Holden played 65 minutes as the second string drew 1-1 with Rochdale before triumphing in a penalty shoot-out. The 26-year-old also played for the reserves against Fulham last week, the first action he has seen since suffering a knee injury in Bolton's Barclays Premier League defeat at Manchester United in March.

"It's great to have him back," Coyle said. "I think he has probably been getting a little bit frustrated because he thinks he can click his fingers after being out for six months and get back at the level he was at. It takes time to build up that fitness and your decision-making in a game, but it was great to see him running about with a Bolton Wanderers shirt on, albeit in a reserve game.

"It will be a tremendous boost when we get him back, and for Jurgen Klinsmann to make that trip when it was pouring down and to stay all night to watch the game is all credit to him. He showed his class and there is no doubt Stuart will reward him when he is fully fit with big performances for the national team."

He's certainly in my plans but I'm sure I'm one of many who don't want to rush him back. He's a very good character, has a professional attitude and constantly wants to improve his game.

"That's exactly the type of player the national team wants. We're building a young team in the United States and he definitely fits into that. People in the United States have noticed his ability and now hopefully he can continue to step it up a bit at a time and surpass the levels he was at prior to his injury."

But reflecting about the reckless lunge, which left the American needing 27 stitches and surgery on both a fractured leg and his knee joint, Evans still has deep feelings of remorse.

Is this the first time it's been said about a fractured leg as well since his injury because usually it has just been 27 stitches on his knee for a knee injury.

Anyway let's hope it plays on Evans' mind a lot today and we beat them!

No, I said we had a decent enough group of players that were not properly drilled or organised. We need to fix that and find a way of utilising them so that we can win games and not be so easy to beat. IF we don't sort that out and quick then we'll be in trouble. Somewhat different to saying that we need to bin off the League cup cos we need to concentrate on a relegation fight after 5 games. If thats the case already then christ half our fans will be slitting their wrists and hanging themselves from the ceilings with their belts!
