Land and housing is too scarce too keep areas free, just in case that's where 'travellers' try to pitch up that week.
Apparently, just one square mile of land would be enough to provide all Gypsy and Traveller families in the UK with a place to stay (according to a report by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.)

Or London's Hyde Park on a trial basis.
When that fails we'll see how quickly eviction notices can actually be enforced.

Worthy advocates taking their children into care... For their own good, obviously...
I've asked mummy twice what he thinks the solution is to the 'gypsy problem' with, uncharacteristically, no response, though he's active in pursuing the problem...
So, first off, we take the children away, and then... what do we do with the parents?

Well if people want them to move around, might I suggest that they not make a fuss when they stay put?

Yep - and these are people who normally can recognise ABC... some of them, allegedly, graduates of half-decent universities...Lord Kangana wrote:Well if people want them to move around, might I suggest that they not make a fuss when they stay put?

Re: The Politics Thread
Whilst the combined forces of the Universe are targetted on a few travellers on a former scrap yard in Basildon on the pretext that they didn't get planning permission to build houses on green-belt land that they own...
Developers are to exploit a controversial change in the planning laws by building more than 300,000 homes on green field sites, campaigners claimed yesterday.
A study by the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) found that 230 major projects are already in the pipeline in anticipation of the Government’s new National Planning Policy Framework.
The proposals involve building 313,000 new homes. These include 75,000 on previously protected Green Belt land. The rest would be built on undeveloped green field sites.
Re: The Politics Thread
Can I be against both? No problems with Travellers in general. Do have a problem with people taking the piss with planning laws to build on green belt land. Or even better, if you have loads of pennies, getting your mates in government to piss about with the planning laws so you can build on green belt land.

Re: The Politics Thread
Am I supposed to be hating a specific group though here? Who are 'them'? 'Them' implies a specific group. I hate everybody. That's a 'you' (plural, and inclusive
).

Re: The Politics Thread
entirely wrong... hate selectively... once you start you have a hobby for life... and a totally worthwhile one that keeps you constantly involved socially... those shifting hate pyramids are so good for chat with your mates... people will seek out your company eagerly... i'm offering you a full and happy life here...Prufrock wrote:Which them?

Re: The Politics Thread
Sounds racist.
A slow burning hatred for everybody, accompanied by varying degrees of 'liking'. Sometimes the liking is strong enough to overcome the hatred. I call those people 'friends'.
