Got a ST this year, even managed to persuade a few 'lapsed' fans to join me........last time I got one was the SL/GM season.

So it's my fault, I'm a jinx sadly

Can't see anything other than a Chelsea win here. I'm glad Torres is out because this would have been the perfect game for him to go and bang 5 goals in, seeing as we're the Oxfam of the Premier League!

I think we need to fire it out wide and attack their full backs, Chelsea tend to play through the centre of the park and we'll get completely dominated if we try and outplay them in that area of the pitch. I'd like to see Muamba and Reo Coker start in the centre of midfield to snuff out that Mata bloke, with Ngog and Tuncay up front. Eagles and Petrov on the wings as the attacking threats (if Eagles learns how to keep a ball in play).

We played 2 in the middle last time at home and got easily destroyed, bad touch by Steinsson and Jussi looking suspect apart.

That said we've been losing this game for 10 years so I'm basically going to watch Mata...

That is 18 goals without a single reply.

I think I will go for a 2-1 home win.
That is actually embarrassing. Like Mike Ashley and Venkys chicken embarrassing. I bet there isn't another record like it in the league, possibly even football.
For the last few years all the manager should have to do is pin that record to the noticeboard and it should motivate the players. It just goes to show what a bunch of soft arses really do play for us. They have absolutely no belief when it comes to games like this; there is no mental toughness at all. To not even score 1 goal in 8 years, players like Cahill, Davies, Knight, Muamba, lads who have been there a few years should fecking hang their heads really and then as professionals be really up to prove a point, but it hasn't happened for the last 7 times so why should it now?

If you hang that on the door of a team containing Muamba and Zat Knight we'd get bummed and you'd not see them. And Robinson would get sent off within seconds. But that is seriously pish.

Btw was the last time we scored the 1-1 draw when Babayaro got sent off and they equalised in the last minute (Hasselbaink) despite their keeper taking a goal kick as the ball was rolling across his box? SHITHOUSES.

Last season's 0-4 was particularly bad, a tribute to Nat Lofthouse and live on Sky. Makes me think we don't deal with "occasions" very well, like we could beat anyone on a wet wednesday and a crowd of a hundred or so but hype it up and pack the stadium and we tend to roll over.

Indeed. Bolton Wanderers centre stage for two games last season. Aggregate score- 0-9.

We've played six games so far; had a lousy fixture list, played four against teams who are unargueably better than us and one of them with ten men. We've played two games against teams probably not better than us, won one comfortably and lost the other by the odd goal, playing forty five minutes with ten men. On top of that we beat a previously unbeaten side in Villa in the cup. Doesn't exactly make us the worst team in football history does it?

Aye. He's saying we're not the worst team ever, so we must be great. That's what he's saying.

Don't worry about caps, he's probably just woken from his nap. He's TW's very own Father Jack Hackett.

I didn't see TANGO saying we were great either...

But your current assessment is close to the mark...

May it change soon!

Bag Of Cement vs Paul Robinson. Now thats a fairer match I'd like to see. Give him a good workout, but he's in with a sporting chance.

isnt the spaniard a winger ?

i'd hope our wingers do some work to counter him and not just leave it all to the fullbacks.

got a feeling that cahill will be back in and holden for pratley since OC commented one/two change of personnel. Hopefully N'gog recovers and keep his place.
