I thought it was a Premier League rule rather than an option?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:IIRC Howard switched permanently in January and Everton agreed to a clause saying he couldn't play in the subsequent league match. Anyone think we'll get a consolation goal this time? We scored against Norwich and obviously Villa but we've not been scoring in this current run.

Apologies, we're free-scoring at the moment, my bad.thebish wrote:and macclesfield...Annoyed Grunt wrote:We scored against QPR, Man City and Liverpool.Armchair Wanderer wrote:Anyone think we'll get a consolation goal this time? Like LL says, bad performances. I didn't see Villa but the City game was the last decent game I can remember.

I think it's an easy mistake to make, given we don't ever look like scoring.
Even in our two 'best' league performances, Cahill's goal came from nowhere against QPR, and we had two half chances against City and scored them both.

Re: Bolton vs Chelsea
We will get the usual cheating and diving from Chelski, plus the Ref will give us nothing but I am biting my lip with a 1-1 draw, the performance is more important though, when the fixtures where released we most of us new we would be in this position, apart from the Norwich game where we dropped 3 must win points 3 points is exactly what I expected.

Re: Bolton vs Chelsea
0-4 Chelsea
Some Chelsea player who's not scored a goal in 8 seasons will score, Jussi will make yet another pathetic howler rooted to his line or falling pathetically backwards and then tell the crowd to FO, but then make 3 or 4 average saves and everyone will say he's still good enough !, They will score at least 2 from our left due to Robinson not cutting out the crosses and generally being shite and Knight (also being shite IMO) will let someone a foot smaller out jump him or just let them run past him without chasing back (as with Arsenal's 2nd), if Sturridge plays he'll score 2 and make our defence look like cardboard cut outs
If (hopefully not) K Davies plays we'll continue to lump aimless ball after aimless ball at him, even though he'll be easily marked by Terry - he'll win a few headers but the ball will go nowhere, he'll move around the pitch like an aged carthorse and constantly moan at the ref because he's not getting any free kicks - apart from that it'll be a good game and we'll compete for the 1st 30 mins - then the team will roll over as usual waiting for their bellies to be tickled.

Seems foolish to limit it to just him?

John Terry will handball in the box, but he's allowed to, so no penalty will be given.

I think the watchword is "stalwart".
Its unfairly close to penile wart for me though.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.
