That's not quite true, I'd say we've not shown any bottle since we beat Arsenal! I have a theory but that'll wait till after the game!
Why not share it now?

Hilarious...

My theory is that when you look at certain players like, Robbo, Knight, Muamba, Steinsson etc they all had a decent enough time last season up unti Wembley. Not saying they were all
perfect all the time, but they were a key part of our winning runs.

For me Coyle built them all up so much, and they had confidence and belief, probably more so than they'd had before at Bolton. They probably began to think of themselves as top players. Then we had Wembley, where at the time, we were favourites against a Stoke side, still seen as functional, but seriously limited. And we got dicked. The Arsenal game was an immediate reaction, but I think what happened at Wembley was those players who were built up in their own minds by Coyles positivity suddenly, perhaps saw all their deficiencies exposed on the biggest stage. Perhaps since then Coyles motivation hasn't been enough to build those players up again, the doubt was planted and has grown!

There are no simple answers, we've missed key players, lost good ones, trying to integrate new ones, some are getting on a bit etc.

But I do wonder if when you build players up so much, whether what we are seeing is the come down of belief and the inability to motivate dates back directly the the Wembley defeat?

Not exactly thrilling or mind-blowing I know!

My own theory is that we weren't a great side in the first place, and from that not-great side we've lost four of the five best players. Any efforts to replace them have so far been undermimed by the fact that the manager doesn't know his best side, or how to use the players he's bought.

Sounds about right and exacerbated by playing the best teams early on when you really dont want to be trying to find your best side. I'm not watching today.Last week we were heading for a creditable draw until I got on line. This week I'm going to stay out and watch MotD from behind the sofa

Considering most of us expected six points at most from seven games, and we've got three (again 3-4 which a lot predicted), it isn't exactly surprising where we are. Has to turn some time. Like my Scouse-supporting mate commented, playing catch up due to a harsh fixture list seems unfair, but everybody else has to play the top lot some time. We need a bit ofgood fortune, maybe today? Still quite optimistic despite the injured list. For the likes of Lee and Holden to be taken out of the equation would hurt any team.

What kind of formation is this going to be? 4-4-2 with Gardner on the right? 4-5-1 with Ngog on the right? I'm confused.

Another game where big changes are made, Coyle needs to decide on his best 11 after today.

No marking from the corner, again.

I've lost faith in Coyle.

Did Ngog just kick Terry right in the Bollocks. His estimation in my mind just soared if correct.
