strewth... two weeks seems like an endless age when you've been thumped 5-1 and there's an international break...

Re: Wiggin game
The first time I went, I have no idea what happened but I woke up at about 6am, fully clothed in bed with my pint glass, the light on and my Facebook chat flashing where I'd attempted to speak to people when I'd got in... it was probably the most pissed I have ever been. All I remember from the night was seeing Iain Dowie there and going "Hey, you're Iain Dowie!"Bruce Rioja wrote:The game is to get your glass home in one piece. Anyway back on topic, I'm quite surprised at the amount of stick Petrov gets. Yes he's no good in defence but in my opinion he's easily our most attacking threat. He's put some cracking crosses in and it's just a shame there's no one on the end of them half the time *ahem Kevin Davies where are you, ahem*. Obviously we should defend as a team but I think the defensive side of things should fall on Paul Robinson on the left being the full back, and we all know what we get from him...

Re: Wiggin game
Is Klasnic back for this one? Certain he wont start, but has a great knack of coming on in the last 15 mins and scoring. I'd hope SKD would start on the pine, although I thougth he was much better last week.
I wouldn't mind seeing this starting 11, with Muamba being told not to go past half way, and not to let any fecker waltz through midfield for 50 metres. Gardner will have had two weeks rest so is a chance at LB, and I would love that but doubt it will happen. Klas, Tuncay, SKD, MDavies offer something different off the bench too.

That's the shape I'd go for too. But unfortunately, our players look even more clueless when asked to carry out new roles. But whatever formation we pick, the staff have had 2 weeks to get it to work. But I do feel it'll be back to the 4-4-2. With N'gog and Davies up front

Swap Robinson for Gardner and Pratley for M Davies or Tuncay and I'm bang on with that.CarlosHernandez wrote:

And Wheater for Knight (If I'm right in thinking its only a one game ban.)Gail Platz wrote:Swap Robinson for Gardner and Pratley for M Davies or Tuncay and I'm bang on with that.CarlosHernandez wrote:

Re: Wiggin game
Whatever he fcuking does, how about we stick with it for more than half of one game

yeah - though - to be fair - he's probably hoping the team will help by not getting concussed and not getting themselves stupidly sent off!CAPSLOCK wrote:Whatever he fcuking does, how about we stick with it for more than half of one game

Pretty much this for me too.
I struggled with the back four so I took a look at the "best" defensive displays so far this season - that would be clean sheets at QPR and Villa and the first half at Arsenal. Not much data to choose from but here's how we started:
QPR : Steinsson Cahill Knight Robbo
Villa: Steinsson Cahill Wheater Gardner
Arse: Steinsson Wheater Knight Robbo
Doesn't help much because it suggests that Steinsson should start but my gut tells me Boyata at RB. It would be nice to settle on a reasonably permanent 4 though.
Formation wise, the 4-5-1 bit is the key - with no start for KD.
They're dirty, they're filthy, they're never gonna last.

Re: Wiggin game
Granted, that wasn't the managers fault
But much of this constant chopping is down to him
Make a call, trust your judgement and run with it - if he doesn't know his best team, he's in the wrong job
Its no wonder we're disorganised
Too many changes, too many ideas
Tuncay - what was that all about - half a game on the right wing...has he been seen since
Muamba...part of a team that wins 4-0...dumped 30 minutes in 2(?) games later
Mark Davies as part of the most lightweight midfield we could muster v United
Week after, against a no hoper (haha) the strength of Pratley replaces him
Muamba back at Arsenal, when we need legs, take him off

Re: Wiggin game
Tuncay is a funny one. When he signed it felt like he was the big one that could have an impact for us. All the reports suggested he has great movement, great on the ball, hard working, a good finisher but more of a creative type. Yet we've seen him in a couple of cameos when we're a few goals down. Would love for him to get a start instead of Pratley at the pointy end of a 5 man midfield.

And yes, it may be time for an avatar replacement. Jussi? Bluey? Lainton?

Not sure I'd go for a keeper at the minute. All they're doing is invariably picking the ball out of the net.
