Re: Wanderers v The Delusional (Mackems)
Hi again,
Well I didn't expect that! A good sensible team selection and good performance
From our lot. Thought you were OK first half but think it's fair to say we deserved the
Win. Announcing GK as man of match on 80 minutes?! Jesus you might as well give us the goal then! Tempting fate much...!?
Coyle has some serious questions to answer.
I've often wondered how over rated he may be as I've never seen much from
Him to justify his supposed reputation, time will tell I suppose! Whatever happens there though you players need to step up a lot, serious lack PF desire on display today, not something were used to from Bolton. Kevin Davies was horrible, in my opinion. I give credit where it's due no matter who the player and club but he seemed more intent on elbowing colback in the back than he did in trying to get Bolton into the game. Really
Embarrassing performance from him as far as I could see.
Positives
Team selection
Effort
Attacking intent
Larsson/Bendtner/Sessegnon/Wickham
And Brown
Travelling support for volume and numbers
Negatives
Kevin Davies input throughout.
Amount of advertising in Reebok stadium! More about BWFC and less ads would be nice and make it a better ground, IMO.
Don't think you'll go down but your manager needs to earn his
Money and quickly.
All the best, see you at the SoL later in season!

Pre-match I noticed that he wasn't over-the-top with praise for Bruce... he might be learning verrryyyy sssssllloooowwwwlllllyyy... Also talking about how good managers get relegated, I didn't really want to hear that. If a manager gets relegated it means there are some pretty large flaws in their team, and there's no excuses at this point, like BWFCI says.BWFC_Insane wrote:There are no excuses for Coyle. He just isn't up to it. We need a manager who is prepared to be nasty. Some of those players need a reality check!thebish wrote:I'm really not sure what Coyle's excuses could possibly be now....
Norwich went to Liverpool today and got a point... yet we surrendered before it had started...
it isn't just ability - we haven't the money to compete on that score - but it costs NOWT to have a fecking go and organise yourself so you know what you're doing.
In terms of what he's saying to the players, I remember him pushing Boyata out of the way when he was taking a throw-in to shout something. Not sure if he's capable of the hairdryer, but his career's on the line so maybe he should buy one.
Ironically, the score was 0-0 for the whole time Petrov was on the pitch. He seemed to at least be putting himself in defensive positions today.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Truly grim second half- and the seriously worrying thing is we looked apreciably WORSE after the substitutions.
Central midfield either out-numbered or bypassed- we have to get three bodies in there
everyone sees that - why can't OC?

Poor again nothing going forward at all. Petrov looked like he did last season. Also what does Pratley offer ? We need creativity and mavies is on bench. Compare free singing of David Vaughan who I said we should sign in summer to Pratley

And of course your defenders weren't knocking lumps out of him and everybody else in a white shirt then?

He's finished though isn't he....he can't keep up with premier league players. It is that simple.
Kevin Davies (and I love him to bits) should not be playing premier league football. Not good enough.

They didn't need to today Tango. Davies was shite. We were playing with 1 up top from the first minute today.
The Sherpa Van Trophy! We've won it one time!

we can't keep making that excuse for him every week!! If the refs consistently don't give him anything (and that's charitable) - then that is STILL a reason not to play him!
Re: Wanderers v The Delusional (Mackems)
Hmm, people criticising Pratley. I thought he was our second best player today (after Wheater). If only he had a little more composure in front of goal he could have had two or three. Unfortunately Reo-Coker, who's otherwise been our best player this season, went missing today. It seems we play at least half of every game with eight players on the pitch.
What did people think of Ngog? I like him. His hassling, chasing, getting stuck in reminds me of Elmander, except he has more composure on the ball and a better touch.
But whatever, still doomed.

Ngog? I think what comes to mind is Tiara on a shirehorse.

Unfortunately, what can't speak, can't lie. If I said otherwise it isn't rose tinters I'd need but a white stick.keveh wrote:When TD's rose tinted glasses are becoming see through, we better start panicking!Harry Genshaw wrote:Cheers Tango, I always look to your posts for a reasoned response on how we did. Re: Wanderers v The Delusional (Mackems)
Oh my, that was a truly depressing second half, and that's being generous. The first half wasn't brilliant but I give allowance because of the 'low in confidence' blah blah.
I know these guys are human, with feelings and all that, but I just can't agree with the old adage that the fact you are earning pots of money doesn't make a difference. If you can't take the shit times then don't pretend to be a 'professional'. In my job, my profession, I have some blummin difficult days that are emotionally draining, but I still have to go out there and be 'me' every day.
I was never too bothered by the whole money thing, but it is beginning to really p*** me off. I'm not just firing the bullets at our players here, I'm just fed up. If you can't do the simple things ... hell the number of times that hopeless hoof up the line when there wasn't a player within blummin miles. It's just not being able to do the simple things.
... and I agree that when Tango is down ... oh, it's bad

Re: Wanderers v The Delusional (Mackems)
So I take it we sucked in the second half. Didn't pay much attention last night as I was a bit preoccupied on the flood front. Especially when my area was put on alert even though I was across town at the time. Anyway nothing happened a bit like us in the second half. Sounds like it time for Coyle to wake up and not be so naive.

Can't see how Coyle can persevere with that team. A m/f with Petrov, Eagles and Pratley in it, just isn't good enough. What does Pratley do for a day job? Eagles and Petrov largely anonymous yesterday. Usual frailties in our three man defense and feck all up front.
Big thanks to Steady for the free ticket
but to cap it all I ended up in the lift with Steve Bruce after the match telling me how he thought the best team won..

Well I think we're f*cked. That was drivel. It's a waste of a fooking afternoon.
We could have played until next year and we still wouldn't have scored.

Re: Wanderers v The Delusional (Mackems)
Sorry for picking on you pal but why has this formation almost become the general consensus both at the Bok and on this board? NRC and Muamba in the defensive midfield i can understand, especially away from home. However since Liverpool away, where the lad came off after half an hour, Muamba has been out of the first team plans which many believe may be due to personal reasons rather than on pitch. So without Muamba the 4-2-3-1 formation really falls on its feet, unless Sean Davis wants to show his face sometime soon.Horza wrote:Glad I got a decent night's sleep instead.

Anyway Muamba aside why does everyone suddenly think Gael Kakuta is the saviour? He's not Daniel Sturridge and looks more of the Rodrigo/Weiss (just in for bodies/super sub potential) than anything else. Sturridge had been on the verge of the first team for quite a while (bit like that McEachran) and had already scored on his champions league debut before joining us. Personally i'd stick with Eagles, bit inconsistant as things stand but as Wigan away showed last week could be a worthy stand in for Chung Yong given a bit more attacking movement up front and less static bodies to whip in the cross for. Again i'm happy with Tuncay, a PROVEN premier league player. Although I think Pratley has been really growing in stature. His performance yesterday wasn't as bad as everyone seems to think, put himself around brilliantly from back to front and was unlucky not to grab a goal or two. Only problem if Super Kev also wants to play the 'attacker who'd rather do everything else' role than we can't carry both without some serious balance issues. I also like the way Ngog/Tuncay had been linking up in cup matches/reserves.
Petrov too isn't ideal but the best we have as things stand. When Lee comes back and if Eagles doesn't mind going onto the left, which he has been doing at different times in the last couple of matches, then we can experiment around abit but given the current squad and with the safety of two defensive midfielders I think Petrovs selection speaks for itself.
