if you could have.....

Post by lovethesmellofnapalm » Sat Oct 29, 2011 10:08 am

just three players, not necessarily the "best", from yesteryears to improve our current squad who would you have?

mine would possibly be
Frandsen - to stiffen up the midfield
Simon Charlton- no nonsense full back
N'Gotty- to play anywhere along the back four

Anelka - from about 4 years ago
Okocha - be interesting to see how he would work out for Coyle
N'Gotty - Just one of the best and toughest defenders for us in the Barclays Premier League

Candela at LB, Jay-Jay at his 6 months of being untouchable in the middle, and Youri coming in off the left. Klasnic would get about 40 a season with Youri and Jay-Jay around.

That Stuart Holden wasn't bad in his day.

Campo, just cos I loved the man.
Colin Hendry in his prime as centre half.
Bruno.

The forwards would have a much better chance to shine with these at the back.

That's cheating.

If we're doing that I'll have Stu, Lee, and the Kevin Davies of five years ago ta!

We'd win the league!

I'd have Gudni over Hendry. Love the man.

Though I should say, my love for Gudni has depreciated since I learned that it was him who recommended we buy Steinsson. Or maybe he just has a dark sense of humour.

cyl holden djorkaeff

nuff said

with these three players we would have a seriously good midfeld drop in muamba our best ball winner and this mid would be brilliant we could even afford to play our talisman .... :hang:

just a point id like to make playing robbo with petrov covering him is suicidal seriously we need to start playing something more like this to even survive this year

boyata cahill wheater robbo

reocoker muamba pratley
davis eagles
ngog

its oldschool ballwinner playing wide upfront but ffs if we dont sort out our teams aability to win and hold the ball were fcked lads

The biggest problems aren't Cahill/Wheater, they're at FB and centre-mid. So

Gudni (RB and just generally to calm everyone down)
Robbie Elliott (our roll call of great LBs is short but he looked good in his last couple of years with us in the championship)
Peter Reid
