In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

this Paul Merton in Ibiza thing is good! ive been many times, have relatives who live there even, so can advocate how beautiful parts of it are, but also have experienced the west end, and Manumission, Pascha, Amnesia etc, so finding it pretty interesting.
paul to hippy, "so do you think there is a drug problem on the island?"
hippy "yeah, the coke is shit!"

Been to Ibiza once. Stayed at the Hotel Hacienda in San Miguel. Absolutely superb - it even appears in Winner's Dinners. Wonderful clifftop location, sensational nosebag. Loved it. There's soooo much more to Ibiza than Es Paradis and whatnot!

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Had Haneke's The Piano Teacher from lovefilm lying around for ages, house to myself tonight so finally got round to watching. I wasnt arsed about how emotinal, dark and poetic it was meant to be, i just wanted some sick shit! but i have to say it completely took me in and i was totally gripped wth the story and especially the acting. there is some sick shit in there, but its not there to shock so does take second fiddle. powerful and compelling stuff, and a bit nauseating! 8/10

I watched the first episode of Top Boy on C4 last night. Very promising. Sort of London version of The Wire. Its four episodes, Mon - Thu this week. This was a good start.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Just watched lunchtime news on TV. It ended with a guy sky-diving with a helmet camera recording his jump.
As he opened his 'chute he caught an eagle in his ropes. He manages to open his reserve one, but it's one hell of a 30 seconds. Catch it if you can.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Youre the fifth person Ive seen or heard saying they fell asleep during it - the other 4 said they enjoyed what they had seen until they nodded off though!
I enjoyed it, its got a bit of a gritty Kidulthood type feel to it. Im glad its on consecutive nights though, get these mini series out the way rather than stretching them out over a month or two!

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Ive stopped mentioning when ive watched 'How to make it in America' because nobody ever takes me up on it.
Id go so far as to say its my favourite tv show ever. i get excited by a new episode, then i dread it ending. i try to prolong it by shazamming the music and googling the cameos etc. i watch the entire thing with a stupid grin on my face. i love the style, the music, the vibe, the photography of NY, and the characters. its funny, cool, endearing, and dosent take itself too seriously. in a nutshell, fecking ace.
