Reo Coker should be captain!
What's been evident since the start of the season is that there's only nigel reo coker who's a talker on that pitch a leader of men, well maybe boys at the moment but he has the character and desire to be captain of this club, he never buries his head in the sand and obviously cares that much that he let rip in dressing room sat after the game. He's been captain at west ham and villa so he has the qualities to surely be captain at bolton?

Re: Reo Coker should be captain!
I agree. SKD was never much of a talker—he led by example. Which means when he's not playing well—as now—he's not a leader. As for Cahill: superb player (the gulf in class between him and the rest of our team can be painful to watch at times), but I don't see him as a captain: too quiet, too modest, and won't be at the club come January, anyway.
So: NRC for captain!

Totally agree with your points on SKD and cahill his a superb player like you say though to quiet for a captain plus i don't think his heart is in it anymore.Sponge wrote:I agree. one example is the sunderland game if it weren't for them 2 it would of been 5 or 6 nil

Doesn't the 1st bit in bold contradict the 2nd bit in bold ?

Not for me.
Wheater is the next bwfc captain in my book. The lad screams captain and if Coyle has him available and ever doesn't pick him, he'll want bumming!
NRC has been poor thus far. His place in the team SHOULD be at stake today and his disappearing act so far this season tells me he aint no captain!

Re: Reo Coker should be captain!
I fail to see the argument to appoint someone captain who has lost 8 of the 10 games he has played in. The captain should be marshalling people into performing better whether its through the likes of Nolan who demanded more from the rest or Okocha who did it through his ability to change the game.
I think its way to soon to be mentioning Reo-Coker as captain. He looks to me like a quiet bloke.

Even though he isn't captain, you can often see him giving instructions and bollockings on the pitch. I'm in the Coker for Captain camp.Mar wrote:I fail to see the argument to appoint someone captain who has lost 8 of the 10 games he has played in. Re: Reo Coker should be captain!
i wouldn't pick RC before Muamba
at the moment he'd have to play - but he's only barely been average over the season so far and well below even that in the last three.
still shouting and getting your name in the papers for "bollockings" issued counts for a lot on here obviously.
needless to say i hope he does well in a couple of hours mind.

Re: Reo Coker should be captain!
Shoutings and bollockings aren't what make a good captain. The team aren't kids and I never did go much on somebody shouting at me like I was one. Lead by example and keep a cool head. Unity and team spirit are what we need, not fxcking boot-camp philosophy.

Wimbledon captain at 17.. He's got something about him definitely. To also say he's been shit for us is idiotic. He's been one of the only players to come out with any credit this season. He's been my man of the match probably 4 or 5 times

Captain sooner or later. Immense signing. Crying shame that he didn't get our two best players to play alongside him in MF. Would have made a significant difference to our start.
