not bad. thanksDr Hotdog wrote:The Snow Goose is one of my favourite LPs!
I watched Opeth at the Academy last week. It was really very boring. Still, the new album is a stonker!
Can't believe they'd rip Camel off in such an obvious way.
Another Swedish band I've recently gotten into is Ghost - debut album out on Rise Above, absolutely cracking!

They're on at the Academy in a couple of weeks, only problem is it's supporting Trivium. Total dogshit.

Re: What are you playing tonight?
Many years ago (1997 to be precise) I was dragged along to watch Oasis play in Birmingham. The impression I left with was that Paul 'Barchord' Arthurs is the least talented 'musician' I've ever seen take to a stage, that Paul McGuigan and Alan White couldn't set/keep time in a metronome shop, that Liam Gallagher is a complete wanker, and that Noel Gallagher is actually a very talented chap who's solo stuff I look forward to.
Well, yesterday I listened to this for the first, and doubtlessly the last time.

What utter, utter shite. It must've taken him all of a morning to write. There isn't a single song on it that you can't 'suss' out on first listen.
Dreadful, plodding rubbbish.
Avoid.

Oh Brucie, you were going so well until you started on Alan White! He's alright on the kit, at the time he was probably too pissed to play.

Re: What are you playing tonight?
Went to JB to get a CD
The band is: Cradle of Filth. What an awful name. I had never heard them or know anything.
It was $10 1 disc is a Live one and the second is some Demos and different versions, I listened to disc 2 on the way home; it was good/ It has Synths!
I also Got:
Pennywise : Full Circle ; $5
The Stranglers ; $5
Black Sabbath : Seventh Star ; $7
When I left I realised I had $10 left so I went back and got a CD for a Christmas Gift (not for me):
Juliette Lewis : Terra Incognita
I was thinking of buying a 2001/2 best of of Manic Street Preachers. ($5)
But obviously didn't as it doesn't have the Song that was on Soccer AM at the start of last season (it's the only song I have heard from them)
I should of got it; it had a song called Australia!
___
I want to buy Taylor Swift CDs

Can only go off what I saw, Doc, and a drummer that regularly speeds up and ends up having the lead guitarist slow him back down goes down in my 'Absolute Shite' book, whether he was pissed or not.Dr Hotdog wrote:Oh Brucie, you were going so well until you started on Alan White! I remember watching Bad Manners in Hawthorns years ago.
They're Ska aren't they?
Anyway, I'll see you're Only Ones and raise you an Inspirals, This is how it feels.

Is Rudy Can't Fail technically Ska then? Or are at least parts of London Calling heavily Ska influenced?

Re: What are you playing tonight?
Can you?
One of Joe Strummer's favourite Clash songs, along with The Only White Man (In Hammersmith Palais). I've always agreed with him.

White Man is, for me, the best Clash song.
