Great training session today with the intermediates at Harriers. 25 teenagers pounding the streets round the village then doing some hill work, worked really hard and beautifully behaved. Got some good athletes coming through.

Then went out for another slightly longer run afterwards too. Feel very virtuous, makes up a little for the diet of junk food i eat anyway...

I'm only road running at the moment so even though X country is just a short distance I'm still a bit worried! :?

Always fancied the Bob Graham Round, but never got it together to join a running club (vital to have other runners for the support side of things). Bit late in life, but nevertheless took the decision to go for it - and am going to 'pace' a friend who is doing it this summer. So last week I hit the section I will pace just to try it out. Did from south of Threlkeld up onto Clough Head (the worst bit - mostly walked that and nearly gave up) then over the Dodds, Raise, Helvellyn, Nethermost Pike, and came off the hills after Dollywagon Pike (missing out Fairfield and back which is part of the section). 3 Hours 12. not bad, as I need to pace him at 4 hours 30.
Bloody sore back though where I came a cropper coming off Whiteside summit. Bruise the size of a pineapple.

Not really, we're talking 15 minute miles, even 20 minute miles. Not exactly rockets. The hard bit is it goes on and on and on and on for 23 hours.
I believe the record for the Bob Graham is something stupid like 7 hours - now that's hard core.

Yeah but you'd go like shit off a stick if you were getting pelted with pinepples though, especially if they were the ones with a hard core!

My football coach has just recomended ice baths to me after longer runs on facebook. Anyone ever tried one? Sounds like madness to me!
