Coyle: "The sending off changed the game. We battled hard and were still in the contest up until Everton's second goal."

Other options now being: change formation and the way we play? Change manager? Wait until Christmas and hopefully sign the players to get us out of this mess? Discuss

I'd not trust Coyle to spend a pound in January!

Dreamland if we get MON!

Need someone who will get the best out of average players. We need to become dour and hard to beat! There aren't many options I'd not consider right now. Hughes would be top of the list and wirk down from there!

Martin O'Neill.

All my thoughts are the same as they have been for the past few weeks so I'm not going to repeat myself in this thread. All I'll say is congratulations to Kevin Davies for putting in potentially the worst performance of all time. Anyone who thinks this guy should get a new contract next season seriously needs a mental health check.

Told you all that prick with the afro would score!

Coyle's biggest failing this season has been his selection.

Of course I'm not privvy to what goes on during the week but it looks like we go into games and if we've won the week before we play the same XI, if we've lost the week before we change a few names.

I know that injuries haven't helped with that but Coyle really needs to work out his players, what their strengths and weaknesess are and have some good solid research on what the opposition's strengths and weaknesess are and build a TEAM of 11 players to best get a result from that rather than just pick 11 players based on their previous success or lack thereof.

Watching us every week, I've formed the opinion that we don't actually do all that much research on the opposition or work on things like set plays both attack and defence. We can't do. It's the same mistakes every week.

Imagine if we had Big Sam here, he'd rip them all a new arsehole, spend an hour reading them the prozone stats of why they were shite then have them doing double training all week.

I said less than a month into his reign that Coyle was a wishy washy politician. And he is. But as I said then, I'm not arsed in the slightest if he's getting results and everyone is going along with him.

But when the results aren't there and people start seeing through his bullshit then that's when it becomes a problem. We're there now.

I've no idea what Coyle thinks our strongest XI is, because I don't think he truly knows either.

We've got a line-up full of average players. At least in the past (including past seasons under Coyle himself), we'd have a TEAM full of average players.

We look clueless. Can't see where our next 3 points is coming from.

What a grim game today - as almost are against Everton.

Wheater made sure we lost this game. Idiot...

If Steinsson can't get picked at RB before Wheater and the NRC he really shouldn't be on the bench.

Please someone tell me that NRC's injury is very, very minor... looked like a hamstring...

This is a weak squad with almost all its important players sidelined...

But today we weakened the team enormously by putting NRC at right back when he has been the motor in midfield all season... the idea that Mark Davies and Pratley would be a better bet than NRC and Muamba is ludicrous...

I don't understand what Owen is doing... I'm not sure Owen himself does... I'm not sure who could work this particular squad into a Prem outfit...

i'm not sure we have the quality to stay up, but the evidence so far is pretty threadbare...

Did Coyle get out of his seat once (apart from substitutions) ? I didn't see him and I'm surprised, especially since it was quite chilly sitting still today.

I think he'd probably be quite surprised to keep him job until January.

Not the worst performance of the year imho. Eagles did ok. Was Mavies playing? Didn't think it was SKD's worst game of the year but...

The thing is I have nothing against Coyle, the man is an ex-playing legend but I just think he's had the injuries and then the tactical naivety against him. He's extremely naive when it comes to picking teams and today it needed us to be a bit more flexible when it comes to formation etc.

I think that we could still be attacking but then play the same formation as Man City, protect the back four with two screening midfielders. The four upfront then have Carte Blanche to attack, 442 does not work and will not work in the modern game. END OF RANT

Yeah, if Steinsson was fit it was a bizarre decision. Wheater at RB is surely only in absolute emergencies.

Sure Steinsson may not be great but the alternative meant bringing Zat Knight back in.

Coyle has completely lost it IMO!

Never mind Coyle, the sending off, the pink pig flying past Amir Khan's box. I want to know why the so called Bolton support were quieter than a Mutes convention. I've never been so disgusted to see a crowds lack of support. Now okay, the team are playing bad, the armchair/plastic stand seated majority are expert witness and think Coyle should go, but that does not excuse them from sitting still like lemmings with their gobs shut. After the first goal went in they just shut up.

I've been to local league games where they made more noise. The Bolton end behind Tim Howards goal second half should hang their heads in shame. Those in the upper tier with their Super White Army flags need to remember why they wrote that on. Get behind em win draw or lose. The team never needed you more than ever, right now. It wouldn't have been that bad in the Normid days and certainly in the Burnden days before that monstrosity of a superstore went up we were always right behind the team during poor results. Maybe too many were playing with their iPhones. As for those who left the stadium as soon as the 2nd goal went in. Goodbye, stay away next time and hope you enjoy your tank tops this christmas. Pathetic!
