I wasn't sure at first, but 2399 has definitely become my favourite poster. In a Bruce Forsyth kind of way...

It's worth logging in just to read up on his day's events. We should make him the forum mascot.BWFC_Insane wrote:I wasn't sure at first, but 2399 has definitely become my favourite poster. In a Bruce Forsyth kind of way...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
2399 is ace. He is nothing like Bruce Forsyth who wants taking outside and shooting. Or if that is too much maybe just putting in a home.

Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Does anyone know what 2399's first language is?

Not comparing him to Bruce Forsyth, just that when a couple have finished dancing on SCD and are struggling a bit Bruce will say "You're my favourites".
Was just a reference to that.....

totally irrational (but then that is well within the remit of this thread!!!)
today I am mostly being angry about those stupid wanky "motorbike/scooters" that have two wheels on the front - I saw one this morning - and (irrationally) - it just made my blood boil!!
feck off and get a proper bike!!!

while I'm at it - the ones with a cockpit!

argghhhhh!!! just get a fecking car!

Health and Safety. Or rather the know nowt numpties who implement more and more ridiculous rules every day because it keeps them in a job.
I'm all for H&S and the original laws as introduced were necessary and a positive step but it's out of hand and nowhere more than in the power generation industry. The latest gem they've introduced is to paint all the kerb stones on the site walkways bright yellow as an aid to prevent trips while walking up and down them. Fairy nuff except there hasn't been a single reported incident on site in the last 20 years of anyone tripping on them so quite why they're deemed necessary is anyone's guess.
But here's the thing. The yellow paint they've used on the kerbs turns as slippery as a fckin ice rink as soon as the paint gets wet, say for example when it rains. And it rains a lot round here.
So now they're installing signs in front of the kerbs as a warning of the dangers of the slippery paint that they painted on the kerbs as a warning of the dangers of the tripping hazard that wasn't really a hazard in the first place. You couldn't make it up.

She will be fine if it is the same one as the photo. She has a seat-belt on so practically indestructible.thebish wrote:that woman on that covered scooter - no helmet - no armour - the flimsiest of shoes... I DREAD to think what she'd look like if she came off that.....

I think you are onto something there Bish. Perhaps a second sign to warn them of the first sign.thebish wrote:CrazyHorse wrote:Today I'm angry about.....

On a similar note, this afternoon our MD has to go on a course as he's in charge of the Christmas Do, because the company pick up the tab for everything.CrazyHorse wrote:Today I'm angry about.....

Apparently, this year he needs to tell us how much we can all drink, what constitutes unacceptable behaviour and so on.
The company's been having a Christmas do since 1894. How the feck did we ever get this far?

Personally I'm a fan of the guy who was defending a ridiculous claim and tripped on the stairs of the office of an "injuries 'r' us" ambulance chasing lawyer.thebish wrote:it'd be awesome if an H&S inspector tripped over one of the signs warning of the slippery paint on the now-hazardous kerbstones!
He's suing them.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
