All the more galling he doesn't rate any of his cash signings good enough to play, don't you think?Lord Kangana wrote:The money issue is self evident, I'm surprised anyone is still in the "you reckon" arena.

My experience is it isn't that much cheaperBijou Bob wrote:I'm completely cool with keeping Coyle. We will go down and I'll enjoy trips to more exotic stadiums in far flung towns where we actually have a chance of winning matches, as opposed to the last 4 years where at least 6 times a season, I'd sooner have just gifted teams the 3 points and avoided the matches.
Bring on the fizzy pop league - better football, far more equitable, a chance of some excitement, cheaper pies at away games.
yeah its cheaper than chelsea, arsenal, but I think BWFC compare reasonably to a lot of championship clubs price wise!
its gonna be gash
but not as gash as the 6 months till may, we'll be relegated officially by feb so we can morbidly enjoy the last couple of months of the season
i'm just hoping we hit that 16(?) point low and dont break records
how fecking embarrassing

You will enjoy it only if a) we have a chance of winning matches, b) it's exciting and c) there's better football. There's no guarantee that's going to happen with the current manager either.Bijou Bob wrote:I'm completely cool with keeping Coyle. Bit of a large assumption there.
Same shite one div lower, would still be the same shite, albeit at some different locations and possibly with cheaper pies.

Administration, 10 point deductions, watching our youth team get beat every week, 8 thousand at the Reebok every week...Worthy4England wrote:You will enjoy it only if a) we have a chance of winning matches, b) it's exciting and c) there's better football. There's another benefit. Shorter queues for the pies.
Keep them coming.

Maybe get Louis Walsh in to head the physio team too? There'd be nothing better at encouraging the players to play out of their skins than the threat of a post match rub down from the dinky Irish pop mogul.

You can't compare baked beans and caviar. Well you could, but it would be a bit foolish.CAPSLOCK wrote:All the more galling he doesn't rate any of his cash signings good enough to play, don't you think?Lord Kangana wrote:The money issue is self evident, I'm surprised anyone is still in the "you reckon" arena.
Megson dropped Elmander and never played Shittu. Just those two players cost more than Coyle has spent in total. We're f*cked for money, I can hardly blame the current guy for not having the funds to spend on decent players when the previous guy spent it on shite. its just a good job that Coyle got us one more season spending nowt and trimkming the wage bill, because if we'd have gone down in 2010 with the bloated wage bill we had we would have been consigned to oblivion.
Small mercies, if you're prepared think about it.

Derby, Forst, Cardiff and a few others charge £30+ for tickets.
On average, I bet it's cheaper watching Premier League football (as a Bolton fan) because of the catergory systems that clubs use. In that division, we'd be Cat A or B. In the Prem, we're usually Cat C

Why Coyle cannot match Megsons 1 PPG ratio with the same players?
Megson had a plan, it might not have been a good plan but at least we had one.
Coyle just sends 11 different players out each week hoping for the best. Clueless.
Re: Who can save us ??
If we did get rid of Coyle, which im not saying we should. Out of the folk available it would have to be either Souness or Reid. Just to try and keep us up this season.

I didn't drop Elmander.
You might want to ask Megson.

Has Walter Smith been mentioned?
The Sherpa Van Trophy! We've won it one time!
Re: Who can save us ??
Lets be honest with ourselves here. Under Megson, whilst bottom at Christmas, we beat the drop by a point or so despite the odds. This year we won't. The team don't have the wherewithall to do it. Neither will we sack Coyle.
Ergo, this thread should now be about where we go from the start of next season, the best way of getting ourselves back up and which players to retain or jettison.

For me I'm hoping there are plenty of Yorkshire teams in the C'ship next year. So hopefully Leeds don't get promoted and Doncaster/Barnsley stay where they are. If both Sheffield sides got promoted I'd be happy but I'd rather not play Wednesday just yet.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Re: Who can save us ??
Not until you did - he retired last May - but now you have mentioned him, he may be exactly the kind of wise older head Coyle needs. That and some idea of tactics, coaching, inspiration...chester white wrote:Has Walter Smith been mentioned?
I'm intrigued by the idea of McClaren. Excellent coach (which we need), tactically aware, did well at Boro, would take the job. His vilification as England boss doesn't put me off - I'd also take Capello – and the Forest fans I know say he was utterly f*cked over by board and circumstance.
Of the other candidates popularly mentioned, I strongly doubt Hughes would take the job, Bruce is almost as much of a chequebook manager as Keane, Curbishley couldn't inspire anyone.

Do Forest have any claim on him for the remainder of the season though?
