What are you reading tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Started reading it but put it down as soon as he starts spouting socialist bile (which didn't take long).
Oh, great, will seek it out. :D

You're spot on Bruce, he does rant on about Thatcher, although curiously whilst in Liverpool, he mentions the fact that the council almost filled in Albert dock and created a multi storey car park, whilst failing to add that it was Derek Hatton and his potty socialist alliance who were in power at the time.

It's still an entertaining read though with some decent one liners.

Starting on '...Played With Fire' this morning.

On that topic, I noticed the mass advertising of the Hollywood version of the film started yesterday. Film out Boxing Day. I've no idea if its the whole trilogy or just the first book.

My reading of Pigeon English has been, to say the least, sporadic. snatched times on journeys, just before falling asleep, amd that's about it... so, it's taken me ages - 3 or 4 weeks to get to page 209 of a 263 page novel.

Nothing much has happened so far - just a young kid from ghana living on a shit London council estate trying to make his way through a pretty tough daily life... And on this estate a young kid has been murdered... and our young kid, in a young kid sort of way is 'investigating' it with 'expertise' from TV shows...

Sometime before the end, I guess, and, at my current rate of progress, sometime after Christmas, this is going to be brought together in a story...

Never read any Chekhov, so I started on a collection of short comic stories written under the pseudonym of Chekhonte.

Normally not my thing, but honestly, absolutely belting. Like grown up Enid Blyton. Raced through it.

Disaster narrowly avoided!

My wife was searching for a book for our LAC and searched for Where's Willy instead of Where's Wally!

I'm assembling a 'to make me a better person list' for 2012 (I do realise I'm not alone in this)...

It is already huge (I obviously have some way to go to make it to semi-human).

I'm hardly reading - maybe six books this year...

So - finish Pigeon English tomorrow...

And a novel a month next year...

this is only the start of reformation...

Started reading 'Fermat's Last Theorem' by Simon Singh.

Yes. Maths. But I love good mysteries like this.

Fermat's theorum crops up in book two of the Millenium trilogy you had started.

I've just finished the final one. Was good. Also read 'It wasn't me: Why everyone else is to blame and you're not' by Chris Addison, was lightly amusing rant-y style fayre. Pretty good. Also read Henry Cecil's A Brief to Counsel which was highly recommended and very good, informative and amusing, if a bit dated. All in one week. Productive.

Just started John Campbell's biography of Crayon's hero, FE Smith.
