You'd get rid of ALL of those? F*ck me, Hoboh, I knew you were mad, but that's going some.Hoboh wrote:In an ideal world I get shut of all those in bold but we cannot replace that many so with the current manager its the championship here we come!!!!The Axman wrote:AGE

All very well clearing the decks, but it leaves a very thin squad. Have to hope the kids come through in numbers - or incoming freebies don't ask for much in signing-on fees.

Hoboh, that's 15 out of 25 in bold! Having said that I only have a strong argument with you with Ricketts, maybe Jussi, Klasnic if he does well this year and Eagles. Why don't people like Eagles? He's done quite well when I've seen us recently.
Positives...
We're not giving crazy contracts to over 30's.
The players we have next year are generally a good standard/younger next to what we might be losing.
Well done Phil!

The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Its not so much dislike for me.. more like frustration. He never ever tries to beat a man.. always comes inside. He can be fantastic for a game then poor for the next 3 or 4.. he constantley looks to shoot even if there is a better option on.Armchair Wanderer wrote:Hoboh, that's 15 out of 25 in bold! This is what I think we miss with Petrov not playing.. he likes to get to the line and put a ball in. Can't remember the last time we put a ball in the box from the wing.

He's right fcuking footed and should be on the right wing
Put him there and he can go wide
It isn't his fault his manager is a prize cock
Kakuta on the right and Eagles on the left...good fcuking lord

Re: Ten to Twelve Players
So we have loads of players out of contract and we may not be able to afford to keep those that we want. Thus we lose a substantial portion of our squad and replace them with a budget of practically nothing.
The black cloud on the horizon is not just our impending relegation it's the possible struggle in the coming seasons.

Eagles shoots because nobody else apart from Klasnic can put the ball with 5 yards of the goal....ChrisC wrote:

As much as I think that we are already relegated, I do think that we will have an excellent chance of coming straight back up withWhookam wrote:So we have loads of players out of contract and we may not be able to afford to keep those that we want. the players that we will 'hopefully' still have.
I can't see Holden & CYL going anywhere after long spells out, no one will want to spend big money on those 2 until they've got back to full fitness and are producing the goods again
As well as those two, we would also still probably have the likes of Wheater, Ricketts, Mears, M Davies, Reo Coker, Muamba, Eagles, N'Gog, Klasnic ?, they are easily good enough to get out of the championship
All we'd need in the summer would be a decent new keeper, another CB and another striker, and possibly another LB if Alonso isn't available
Re: Ten to Twelve Players
It's wages though, innit? I agree players wise, that should be more than enough, but the likes of Klasnic and Reo-Coker will just be a get shut asap job.

Even without Klasnic & NRC we'd piss the championship....Prufrock wrote:It's wages though, innit? I agree players wise, that should be more than enough, but the likes of Klasnic and Reo-Coker will just be a get shut asap job.
We would have a midfield of any 4 from Holden, CYL, Muamba, M Davies, Eagles (Pratley as a back up), even the likes of M Davies
would excel in the championship.
In terms of wages we'll save several millions from getting shut of Jussi, K Davies, Knight, Robinson, Petrov, Steinsson, Sean Davis, Cahill etc...and I suspect that even the likes of Blake, Gardner will be on around £10k a week ?

Re: Ten to Twelve Players
If we go down very few senior players will still be here. We are already likely to lose in excess of 20M this year. Add 40 odd million to that and a club who wouldn't be able to service such a large debt. Would be a firesale.Peter Thompson wrote:Even without Klasnic & NRC we'd piss the championship....Prufrock wrote:It's wages though, innit? I'm not sure we have any sort of side that would 'piss' the championship, West Ham would have thought that, have spent millions and are still not exactly pissing it are they?

So even getting rid of approx 12 players we've enough to piss the championship ????????????????
Send me some of your happy pills !! Even the squad we have now isn't strong enough to piss the championship.

Not at all...its all part of the 'long term' plan that Gartside & Coyle keep speaking about !!BWFC_Insane wrote: If we go down very few senior players will still be here. I would suspect (although I may be slightly out), that we'd save around £10M a year from the wages of all the out of contract players and possible salary reductions of the remaning players under contract (hopefully built into their contracts), plus the probable £7M from the Cahill sale in Jan and any token fee's they may get if anyone actually wants the likes of NRC & Klasnic.
Financially I suspect that we'd be able to survive a season in the championship, although if we didn't come back up at the 1st attempt then I agree we'd be in the shit.
