I think that some are realising the 'be careful what you wish for' is more than just a saying!
If Coyle goes then who?
You can't get any worse than nil points.
Re: Time to go
I would seriously consider anyone who can sort out our defence. I know it started at wembley; but prior to that game our defence was fairly solid. Yes we had, ( now a lot of fans with hindsight will admit); Matty Taylor doing unsung dog work tracking back every time there was a sniff of an opposition attack. A quickly won ball was up to Elmander and hopefully goalwards. But we still have the same back four. Chopped and changed from week to week, but hey, four from six really. WTF has happened? The way I feel right now, I'd even be happier with Gordon Strachan................maybe when sober, I'll review that....

Listening to the wireless on the way back up, someone mentioned John Gregory. Thoughts?

Yes, it would have been good if the person on the radio had had some.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Gregory??
Has he worked at all since Villa fired him off??
If Coyle does go on gardening leave, I can only see us with Davies or Jewell. Can I make it immediately clear that personally, I don't see either of them making a difference.

Re: Time to go
Already made a unlikely shout for Simon Grayson but Chris Hughton could also do a job here. Handled himself with real class at Newcastle imo.

We need someone tough. Not hughton who is a nice guy, possibly a good coach, but we need someone to batter this sorry set of bastards till they stop smiling and joking after a defeat!

Isn't he at Brum?
It needs to be someone out of work. And not f*cking Jewell or any of them clowns. We'd just be swapping one set of problems for another.
Only credible names mentioned so far are McClaren and Dave Jones.
But I'm not certain he's going just yet.

I hope that when he does go that his reputation is so bad that he can't get a decent job in football. He's a media darling but after ruining us he certainly doesn't deserve to be.

Your point is made. There are a lot I'd prefer less even than Coyle. (& Ince is one)thebish wrote:Paul Ince?jmjhb wrote:I'm in the "Anyone but Coyle" camp at the moment.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Time to go
Just chucking a name in the air here but over last few weeks many diffrent names have been mentioned on here what about Lee Clark, good young manager who has done a great job at Huddersfield defo has got a good career ahead of him, people may not want him because of his inexperience but when names like Paul Ince and Steve MaClaren are been mentioned well LC over them any day.

Exactly
Wanting him out the job is fine, but let's not turn the whole board into a creative name calling contest - it just looks childish and adds nothing.

Re: Time to go
I'm sure even Ince would get more than 9 points in 21 games, so yes.
Not sure why him and McClaren are in the same bracket - one got Middlesbrough to the UEFA Cup final and won the Eredivisie with an unfancied Twente, and um, the other didn't.
