Cheeky cnut. Who's he branding a mid-or-lower table team? We're a bottom of the table team, thank you very much.thebish wrote:anyway... back to transfers!! (the window opens soon!)
New York Red Bulls have told Bolton that Tim Ream is not for sale, despite allowing the defender to spend a trial spell at the Reebok.
Ream is currently on trial with Bolton, after completing a trial spell with Premier League rivals West Brom last month.
Bolton boss Owen Coyle had been expected to make a move for Ream as a replacement for Gary Cahill, who seems set to depart in January, had the defender impressed during his spell with the Wanderers.
However, Red Bulls sporting director Erik Soler insists the USA international will not be sold in the January transfer window.
"Tim is going to play for us next year," Soler told the MLSsoccer website. "I met with him, as I did with every single player after the season, and my message was very clear.
"We would like him to go on those two training sessions [with West Brom and Bolton] to gain experience, and also to have a personal benchmark on what the mid-or-lower Premier League would feel like.

That 'link' with a 24 yr old Crawley centre half did raise a smile
I thought - one transfer window too early perhaps...
We need Nigel Quashie

a right back who we could get hold of could be Chris Gunter, he's only 22 and he's pretty quick and a decent defender... 2million would proberly get him!Sponge wrote:A right back and a couple of wingers wouldn't go amiss either.Tals-biggest-fan wrote:Would sign Wayne bridge aslong as Frankie comes along to every game!
We really need a left back, centre back and a creative midfielder and another link up striker to play along side Klasnic

Roberto Mancini hopes Wayne Bridge will leave Man City in January
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini hopes left-back Wayne Bridge will leave the club in January.
Bridge, 31, has made only one appearance for City this season, in the Carling Cup win over Birmingham in September. He spent the end of last season on loan at West Ham.
Mancini said: "I don't understand why there are some players that have a chance to go and play, and don't.
"Wayne is a good guy but I hope he leaves in January."
Bridge cost City a reported £10m when he joined from Chelsea in January 2009 but has made just 40 league starts for the club.
Mancini is keen to move the former England man on as he is behind Gael Clichy, Aleksandar Kolarov and Pablo Zabaleta in the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium.
The City manager also revealed Bridge rejected a move to Celtic in the summer.
"I don't know why you would want to stay at a club where you can't play," Mancini said.
"He has a chance, maybe not in the Premier League but in the Championship.
"When we are young and start to play football we don't play for money, we play because we like football. Every player should have this target in mind - to play football.
"Wayne is a good guy, but he had two or three chances in the summer, including Celtic, who are an important team.
"He trains with us sometimes and sometimes with the young players but I hope, for him, he leaves in January because it's difficult for a player to stay training every day."

A Guardian journalist asked Mancini yesterday if he knew where Wayne Bridge was, the Italian's reply was "I don't know, golf?" - and I don't think he was asking the journo for a quick knock.
As for Andrews - he's looked good-ish in the Championship from what I've seen but I don't think we need another Pratley. Another body can't hurt though can it? One thing in his favour is that he's a full international with Ireland and has Premier League Experience unlike Dazzling Darren.

Bridge is on £90K a week, so the papers have said...Dr Hotdog wrote:A Guardian journalist asked Mancini yesterday if he knew where Wayne Bridge was, the Italian's reply was "I don't know, golf?" - and I don't think he was asking the journo for a quick knock.

And he seems quite happy to be picking that up and doing nowt...
And City want a decent fee for him..
Not a chance....

Oh aye, it's fine if that one passes us by. Bridge would never pass the face-to-face 'are you as passionate about football as me' meeting with Coyle anyway.
