Re: Boxing Fans Anyone?
Agree with what you said about Froch and Brook there mate, I still think Froch has got a few more years left in him and i hope so because i like his attitude and his desire to win. This Ward is something special he reminds me of a bigger Floyd Mayweather very slick and a great counter puncher. Brook will be world champion next year if Eddie Hearn gets him the right fights which would be like you said fighting mexicans because they are tough, he needs to be going 12 rounds more to build up his stamina.Il Pirate wrote:The Froch fight was very good. AW was too good for him, but as Froch admitted afterwards, he was too eager. He should have stepped back and took his time instead of franticaly trying to knock out Ward when close up. Froch was also too open, Ward caught him at will with the left hook and was good following up with a little uppercut with the right. On another night who knows? Froch will be back, but needs to be quicker, cuter, better at covering when he lets a jab go, cos he's wide open to a counter puncher and he needs to find a way of getting rid of the nervousness which holds him back in the first 5 rounds of every fight.
Kell Brook was good, but again, caught with some punches he shouldn't be taking & a more experienced opponent & heavier puncher could have really p*ssed on his fireworks. He's great going forward but needs to know how to move on the backfoot. Admittedly, he moves his head so well, he doesn't have to do a great deal on the backfoot; but there will be a time when it's needed or he'll find himself in deep water. A superb prospect, but all this talk of a world title shot in the next two or three fights is pure bollox. Let him have a few fights in America with some good journeymen & a couple of Mexicans before talking about word titles.
And the boxer to watch in 2012? Chris Eubank's lad is going to be worrying a lot of domestic and european s. middleweights in the year to come.
I watched Chris Eubank Jnr on the undercard to Tyson Fury weeks ago, he looks and talks like his dad which was weird

He is a plank and shaped like a woman. I don't see Fury troubling the Klitschko brothers or the Chuckle brothers anytime soon because he's never fit. Chisora should of knocked him out months ago but had a lot of personal problems during the build up and wasn't in the right frame of mind. I do like Chisora's all action style and has sorted himself out since then thats why he has got a fight with Vitali Klitschko on february the 11thjaffka wrote:We still have Tyson Fury![]()
I like watching his fights, he is entertaining, always somehow gets into trouble but has somehow managed to come through.
His afterfight interviews are best though, the thick manc c**t.

I come back off holiday and pretty much every British boxer has lost their title, what?!
On another note, Chisora vs. V Klitschko HAHA what an absolute joke. Chisora is going to get completely smashed, I can't think of a more one-sided fight!

2lbs of pressure right on the end of the chin. That's all it takes. Chisora is more than capable of doing that.

Chisora is a bum and will get nowhere near him. It also only takes Klitschko that amount and Chisora will be KO'd.... and I know who's the most likely to do it to the other!Il Pirate wrote:Gail Platz wrote:I come back off holiday and pretty much every British boxer has lost their title, what?!

I was following his tweets yesterday when he was revealing it all, got to admit it is all very shady.
But then isn't every boxing match?

Watching the footage of the man in the hat, yes it does, very suspicious.

It does seem dodgy but if he had performed like a World Champion then he wouldn't be in this position now.

Re: Boxing Fans Anyone?
Lamont Peterson has said he will give Amir a rematch so that should be good enough for him.

Aye - let's have it at the Phoenix Club with our own judges.

Cracking idea! With Rave on doing the walk in music, and with the inflatable cock at the entrance of the Phoenix Club.Wandering Willy wrote:Aye - let's have it at the Phoenix Club with our own judges.

Mind you, the guy messing with the judges was pretty blatant.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I don't think the rematch will be in Washington this time

Re: Boxing Fans Anyone?
One of you's going to have to help me out with this. Is the result of the last match now null and void? Does Kahn get his belts back?
May the bridges I burn light your way
Re: Boxing Fans Anyone?
Not necessarily. Think that will depend what the IBF do. If they order a rematch as well it might be declared void, but I dunno how that works with it being two bodies. If they don't it seems unlikely because yon mon will keep the IBF belt. Rumours if they don't order a re-match, Peterson will refuse to fight Khan, keeping the IBF but losing the WBA. I thought he'd agreed to a rematch (in principle)?

Re: Boxing Fans Anyone?
Well, and feel free to call me a 4uckwit as I know precious little about it, but my understanding is that if you're a current belt holder then you get to call the shots on the next fight re- purse percentage.
