Yes, big shame that is.Annoyed Grunt wrote:Lucas ruled out for the rest of the season......quite a blow for them.
I'm glad we haven't lost any major players to injury.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Good.
I'm sick of their sort coming over here taking our football jobs.

There'll be flowers left in piles all over Liverpool.
I have no idea whetehr Suarez is racist, but I know he's a diving, cheating cnut and deserves a season ban let alone 8 games.
I bet Evra's 'injured' next time he's due at Anfield though.

Re: Liverpool laughing stocks?
There's a bad smell about all of this.
BUT, if he's still found guilty after all the toing and froing and the appeals and legal wrangling and shit, then surely Liverpool have no choice but to also issue their own punishment to him of an additional couple of match bans and additional fine. Cos if they don't punish him themselves then surely they're condoning his racist behaviour?

They can't punish him. He's whiter than the driven snow. (oops).CrazyHorse wrote:There's a bad smell about all of this.

Re: Liverpool laughing stocks?
The John Terry situation is different. It's first and foremost, a police enquiry. If the police find him not guilty, then there's nowt the FA can do. If he IS found guilty though, they should...SHOULD... throw the book at him

Re: Liverpool laughing stocks?
The police believe him to be guilty. It's now up to the CPS to prosecute. But the FA don't need the same amount of evidence as the police do to act, so it's a bit of a mystery why the FA isn't charging a stalwart of the England line-up when they've charged a stalwart of the Uruguayan team (beats me).boltonboris wrote:The John Terry situation is different. It's not actually correct.Annoyed Grunt wrote:Didn't know that bit.boltonboris wrote:The John Terry situation is different. It's first and foremost, a police enquiry. Though the effect may be the same the two bodies are quite different and there is no need for one to take the same steps, or come to the same conclusion as the other.
Very similar to employment law in that the proof, the 'guilt' and the judgements take different routes.

So, both police and FA can / should do him?

Re: Liverpool laughing stocks?
Well, whilst it's understandable that one stands back (the football authorities) if the other (the Fuzz) gets involved it's actually unnecessary and can, in fact, mean action which should be taken may not be.Annoyed Grunt wrote:So, both police and FA can / should do him?bobo the clown wrote:It's not actually correct.Annoyed Grunt wrote:Didn't know that bit.boltonboris wrote:The John Terry situation is different. The Rozzers may decide that their standards of proof, for a prosecution .... or the CPS after them, is not quite there. There may be some technicality ... and for them to act it has to be a break in the law.
The football authorities may still feel that their regulations have been broken & plough on regardless.
Certainly if the football authority doesn't come in and the Scuffers do & then drop it (or the Court case is found 'not guilty') it's very hard for the footy to then come in & charge after that even if it's quite appropriate.
This is EXACTLY the same in an employment situation where a person is charged by the Police with something & the employer decides to sit back before they charge them with a working offence.
That's a massive mistake (& delays things way longer than tolerable). The rules, the proof required, the outcome and the processes are all quite separate & ought to be treated as such.

If you read the Liverpool forums, dozens of posts start with "everyone knows Luis isn't a racist...".bobo the clown wrote:There'll be flowers left in piles all over Liverpool.

How? How the f*ck do they know?
It'd be better for everyone concerned if we didn't have to hear the immediate defence of "I'm sure X isn't X" from every 2-bit pundit every time something happens. Because, actually, they have no idea either.
Not that it winds me up or anything.

Hansen saying racism isn't a problem "because of the success of coloured players in the prem" (not verbatim, but roughly what was said)
expecting an eight-programme ban and a candlelit vigit outside Anfield in half hour.

Stories about Liverpool 'sources' complaining about the length of the ban?!
If you think he is innocent, fair enough, but 8 games doesn't seem particularly harsh when Davey W gets 4 for being dim!
