Quick heads-up for bobo. The multi-talented Gina Yashere is on Come Dine With Me later this evening. Should be compulsive viewing especially as mirth-master Paul Tonkinson is on too.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Seeing as bobo had a marathon session watching Nigella last night, I imagine his right arm is probably still too weak to be able to even change channels to catch this.Little Green Man wrote:Quick heads-up for bobo. New version of Ben Hur on next Wednesday. I'll be watching that, though I doubt it'll touch the original.

Course you do. There, there, put the rod away it's lousy weather for fishing. If anybody pulls a mobile phone out in it it's right off.thebish wrote:I bet it will be miles better!TANGODANCER wrote:New version of Ben Hur on next Wednesday. Re: What are you watching tonight?
cutting edge drama...
watched the Muppet Christmas tonight...
(it's been recorded on the Humax for the last 2 years - but the menu only allows a certain number of letters for titles - so it always appears in the list as "The Muppet Christ" - which is what we now call it...)

Since it's Christmas Eve, Mrs Tango has got the Baileys and chocolates out we'll be watching The Spiderwick Chronicles. Well, you do things like that at Christmas, don't you?

I'd be happy to try it, Tango - if only I could ever find the end of this fecking Sellotape first!TANGODANCER wrote:Since it's Christmas Eve, Mrs Tango has got the Baileys and chocolates out we'll be watching The Spiderwick Chronicles. Well, you do things like that at Christmas, don't you?

Oh my giddy aunt - Channel 5, how low-budget can you get? Eddie Stobart's Christmas Delivery - hardly Ice Road Truckers, is it? Flick it on now to believe what's passing as television this Christmas eve. Eddie Stobart's drivers deliver Christmas trees in standard conditions!
It's on now, see it to believe it!

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Dam. Forgot about that. Saw it advertised after Morecambe and Wise, watched the kiddie-film then it slipped my mind. A comedy genius was old Les. Loved his piano "recitals" that could only have been done by someone who actually could play the piano very well.Bruce Rioja wrote:BBC2 The Best of Les Dawson. Utterly brilliant!!
Anyway...watched the bits of Pride and Prejudice that dealt with actually making the film. The way they transformed places like Chatsworth House etc, to suit the film, was quite amazing. They built rooms within rooms so that nothing of the original was changed or damaged. Some very talented people in the British film industry. Intruiging stuff.

You missed a treat there, Tango. I only caught it by accident myself. There was one joke about blowing a candle out that had tears rolling down my face. Brilliant stuff. We'll never see his like again.TANGODANCER wrote:Dam. Forgot about that. Saw it advertised after Morecambe and Wise, watched the kiddie-film then it slipped my mind. A comedy genius was old Les. No it wasn't.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

It was certainly better than the steaming pile of crap they served up this year!
