Is it bollocks too late, it's not like we're 15 points adrift is it?Whookam wrote:Nah, too late for that.jmjhb wrote:Must-win game. Simple as.

Well based on the first half of the season, 3 point adrift is more then enough.Gail Platz wrote:Is it bollocks too late, it's not like we're 15 points adrift is it?Whookam wrote:Nah, too late for that.jmjhb wrote:Must-win game. Simple as.
After our really tricky start to the season, we've just had our much easier catch-up games. January moves us back into really tough games again so we really needed to catch-up and get a few points headroom, which we have been unable to do.
You can very easily see us not getting a point in January.

With our luck we'll probably get Clattenburg for this one....
Re: Bolton v Wolves: The biggest match of the season, again
well - arsenal have done us no favours there....
Re: Bolton v Wolves: The biggest match of the season, again
If Wolves can get a point at Arse, then three points here shouldnt be to much trouble.
There are far too many Rose Tinted Glasses around for my liking,
When the manager publicly blames the players week after week (the players he has picked), then alarm bells should be ringing very very loudly. (Its everyones fault but mine)

Stranger things have happened. Tis only at the end of last season we beat Arsenal with Cohen scoring the winner.officer_dibble wrote:Another team who can take a point off the big boys!

The thing that pisses me off this season is that we have no fighting spirit, teams go 1 up against us then we give up. I can't see us beating wolves because they are a average side.

Indeed, Tango, but as these things go, us beating Arsenal on the back of our family sized dicking at Wembley has proved to be the world's greatest false dawn since Rudyard Kipling's Indian chappie proposed to the wrong sister!!!TANGODANCER wrote:Tis only at the end of last season we beat Arsenal with Cohen scoring the winner.

Don't know really, the previous games which were deemed the biggest of the season?
Wigan Away
Stoke Home
Blackburn Away
Of course your biggest is always your next one mind

Say what you like but we are the only team in the league who has their pants pulled down and takes it from the big boys every time, absolute embarrassment. Anyway this is the Wolves thread. I don't rate them much, but see no reason why they can't come here, capitalise on the space we afford attacking teams, score first, score again quickly and play out for a comfortable win. Everyone else does! The bugger is its NYE, rather than NYD, so another night of drinking spoilt!

And we won them all so why not this one also. Looks like we win when just about everyone of us have had enough.Athers wrote:Don't know really, the previous games which were deemed the biggest of the season?

There's plenty you could add to that list. Norwich @ home etc.Athers wrote:Don't know really, the previous games which were deemed the biggest of the season?

Re: Bolton v Wolves: The biggest match of the season, again
if there was even a hint of organisation, discipline, spirit and that backs-to-the-wall mentality you need in a relegation battle then maybe we could win this one. The depressing thing is that all our relegation rivals have displayed those qualities over the last week.
Who's that coming up the hill boys,
The Wanderers are coming up the hill boys,
They all laugh at us, they all mock at us,
They all say our days are numbered,
Born to be a Wanderer, victorious are we....

Tis true. Ah well, I suppose you could say we've been desperate to be in a cup-final for ages. Now, in terms of importance, we're in twenty of em.Bruce Rioja wrote:Indeed, Tango, but as these things go, us beating Arsenal on the back of our family sized dicking at Wembley has proved to be the world's greatest false dawn since Rudyard Kipling's Indian chappie proposed to the wrong sister!!!TANGODANCER wrote:Tis only at the end of last season we beat Arsenal with Cohen scoring the winner.

It's more than likely that it's with the benefit of hindsight that you look at the Norwich @ home game and say it was must win.
Certainly the paucity of the first half performance sticks out in my mind, for the complete shambles we looked.
Sunderland at home was another one, where we looked a lot worse than you'd expect.

And Everton. And Villa.

Re: Bolton v Wolves: The biggest match of the season, again
It's about time the players were told to forget about league positions and relegation. One game at a time, is the only way to go. First job is to prove who actually are the "one and only Wanderers". Oh for a John McGinlay to give em a "wee push" or two.
