Discovered Philpotts this year. It is pretty awesome. Like Subway, but cheaper, and nice.
Makes me feel healthy, until I get drawn towards the hot roast sandwiches, which are amazing!

Aha, I live very close to a Philpotts but never been in. That'll be my new year's resolution.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Tandoori salmon and assorted veg (as much as poss of the stuff left in fridge - looks like loads of leeks, two small potatoes, half a a can of petits poids and some manky asparagus).
Yum...
Off to that London in the morn... or more like midday by the time we've loaded the car to the extent that we'll need a reindeer to pull it...
So - have a great Christmas break folks... I hope my absence will once more mean three points for the whites...

Now Im set on the pastrami/stilton topping though I very rarely try anything else - got to go to that hot food deli bit at some point there was a massive stack of crispy bacon on there today oof!
I feel healthy in there, until the point when they go "do you want butter or oil on your sandwich?"

Have just had crumpets and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon.
For later - I've a small chicken, I also have pheasant and truffle pate, goats cheese, fig and cinnamon chutney, olives, Champagne.......

Just back from the traditional Christmas Eve meal out.....this year Frankie & Bennys.
Oh, and if the waitress asks "if there's anything at all I can do for you".....asking for a blow job doesn't go down too well.

Which, all I can tell you, tastes very nice indeed. I couldn't possibly comment as to the content level of either, and indeed, if they withdrew either then I actually wouldn't know, but my pate this evening is delicious.Bruce Rioja wrote: also have pheasant and truffle pate,

I'm ill. Man flu - you know how it goes?!
Therefore comfort food is required, and on this occasion, fish pie!

Oh yes

On the mend already

I know its bit late now, but if anyone is passing Sainsbury's they could do worse than pick up a bottle of Taste the Difference Pedro Ximinez for £7.99. Its won awards galore, its absolute f*cking nectar.

Got that after the Observer recco. 'nectar' absolutely the right description. Folks should know it's a half bottle for that price.Lord Kangana wrote:I know its bit late now, but if anyone is passing Sainsbury's they could do worse than pick up a bottle of Taste the Difference Pedro Ximinez for £7.99. Got another couple of half bottles for Christmas - an Aussie sweet white - orange muscat and flora - from Brown Bros, that awaits the next Roquefort evening.
And what promises to be a real treat of a bone-dry sherry from El Maestro Sierra. http://www.maestrosierra.com/es/nuestros-productos.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
Wife and self, daughter, son-in-law, grandson and girlfriend dined right royaly at Chateau Tango tonight. Started with standard prawn cocktail with generous helpings of prawns, hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes etc etc, with seafood sauce and soft rolls. Women opted for melon.
Fried rump steak with soft-centred and lightly crisped roasties, garden peas, mushrooms and onion rings all served with a tasty pepper sauce. Sweet was home-made trifle (I passed till later), various cheeses and crackers. Not a drink night as two were driving so just a glass of Liebfraumilch and finished with Irish coffees. (Bit sickly for me so I had a coffee and a slug of Spanish Brandy). All told, excellent.
I'll never know how the wife manages to serve six steaks in various stages of choice all at the same time and all excellently cooked, but she did. Delicious.
